After yesterday’s free pick underdog winner with Milwaukee over the Mets, we’re back with yet another value underdog play for Saturday night.
We’re going to go with the Mariners tonight over the Yankees. Mike Mussina has not pitched well this season at all, yet he is still being over-valued by the sportsbooks. Mussina’s ERA is 5.88 and he has allowed 60 hits, 14 walks in 41 innings, with only 25 strikeouts. Last season in over 200 innings Mussina walked only 40 batters total, so he has clearly not been himself so far in 2004.
Seattle has won 3 of their last 4 at home and until Mussina proves he worthy of being a big road favorite, there is value against him.
