Insider Edge Sports – Report For Saturday, April 10, 2004
We split on Friday, going 2-2 and losing 1/10th of a unit so it was basically a wash. Our biggest baseball card of the season goes today as we are releasing a season high 6 winners including our Underdog Game of the Week. We have started the baseball season on a roll picking up over 10 units in the first week. The first baseball game goes off at 1:15 pm EST this afternoon. As always, the entire card is guaranteed.
#1 Documented in NCAA Hoops! We ended the season +36 units, finishing 1st at Wisetracking and we would have been first at Procappers if unit values were used, since all games are counted as just one unit there. Overall, a great season.

Houston Astros (Redding) at Milwaukee Brewers (Sheets) 2:05 pm EST
Milwaukee (Sheets) +120 (2 Units)
Ben Sheets is coming off a very sub par effort against St. Louis as he lasted only 3.1 innings allowing 3 earned runs. At least he should be fresh for his home opener against a team that he has always pitched well against. In 10 career starts against the Astros, he is 6-2 with a 3.26 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Current starters are hitting just .259 against him in 258 at bats. Although his spring numbers weren’t that impressive, Sheet was more concerned about mechanics than anything else. He was pleased with his overall health, the progress he made on mechanical adjustments, including a change in his arm angle, and - perhaps most important - the progress he made with his changeup. For much of Sheets' first three seasons, scouts would say, "If only he had a changeup to go with that fastball and curve." Tim Redding is not a pitcher who likes the road. He is 4-12 with a 4.73 ERA and 1.63 WHIP away from his home stadium. He has also been very pedestrian against the Brewers with his 4.37 ERA in 35 innings. A misleading stat is his .277 BAA against Milwaukee as he is in reality allowing .364 to the current Brewers starting lineup.
