Arizona scored 9 runs in their first game this year against a righty starter in a game where they had 19 base runners. St. Louis scored 6 and 9 runs in their two games against righty starters this year. The Cards are 31-21 over in April last 3 seasons, 117-83 over at night, and 88-72 over on the road. Arizona is a solid 93-66 over at home the last 3 seasons and the over is 6-2 when these two teams meet in Arizona. The Cards pitching staff gave up a whopping 30 runs in their 4 game homestand with Milwaukee allowing them to hit .290 in the series. Arizona gave up 16 runs in their 3 game homestand with Colorado and the bullpen had a 6.94 era in those games. Carpenter has a career 4.83 era and he missed all of last season with arm ailments, expect a max of 5 innings from him tonight. Daigle is trying to make the jump from AA E-Paso to the majors this season and is just 23 years old. Winds are also expected to be blowing out to right field tonight which should just help our cause more. With neither starter expected to pitch more than 5-6 innings the over has a great shot at cashing with these mediocre bullpens.
