New York Knicks at Philadelphia 76ers 7:00 pm EST
Philadelphia E (2 Units)
The Knicks are hurting and their recent play is showing that. They are 3-4 their last 7 but all 3 road games have ended up as losses by an average of 15.3 ppg. Philadelphia has been playing much better without Allen Iverson in the lineup. They are 4-2 their last 6 games including a 4-1 record at home. Iverson has missed 13 of the last 19 games. The team’s record in those 13 games is 8-5. Its record in the six games Iverson played was 1-5. Samuel Dalembert, Willie Green, Kyle Korver and John Salmons have had to shoulder much of the load. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. These are the kind of players who need to play hard every game in order for them to stick around. Iverson's injury, coupled with all the cynicism his injury has built, has put the Sixers in a position where they can do no wrong. Despite having three days off following their dramatic win over Portland on Monday, the Knicks played without energy or a sense of urgency on Friday against New Jersey. "Our defense was terrible," Knick coach Lenny Wilkens said. "We didn't get back, we didn't talk. Our defense was the worst I've seen it in a long time. We made it too easy for them. It concerns me.” When games and playoff spots are on the line, the Knicks are cringing, and they allowed the Nets, who were without their top two players, to shoot 60% from the floor Friday night. A loss like that will be hard to overcome, especially against a bunch of young Philadelphia players who are playing loose and confident. Even without Iverson, tonight’s game is still a sellout. This is the price range that the Sixers thrive on, as they are 11-5 ATS as favorites of 3.5 points or less.
