NBA - LA Clippers (+5) over Minnesota Timberwolves
The Clippers, in the midst of a six game losing streak, welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to Staples Center Saturday night hoping to end their current skid. In their most recent loss, 103-94 to the Wizards at home on Thursday, they were victimized by rookie guard Steve Blake who scored 17 points (seven which were scored in the last 4:42). Corey Maggette's 25 points and Bobby Simmons's 10 rebounds were wasted for LA.
This matchup on Saturday looks like a good time for the Clippers to snap their longest period without a win this season. They average almost 98 points per game at Staples Center and although their defense has been their weak spot all year, Minnesota only averages 93 ppg when away from home. The Timberwolves barely squeezed out a victory last time they faced Elton Brand's squad in LA, winning 96-94 back in December.
The Clippers offense will keep them in this game, and if Brand can get a decent share of the boards, they may even have a shot to win outright.
We like the home dog in what should be a fast-paced, high scoring affair in the City of Angels. Take the Clippers getting the points.
