PHOENIX SUNS VISIT SAN ANTONIO SPURS
    SATURDAY @ 8:30 EST
    WWW.SPORTSWIRE.COM 'S
    LEADER RED ZONE SPORTS™
What a contrast we have in this pair. Spurs fighting for the lead in the Western Conference, and the Suns mired in dead last. To compound this even further, Phoenix is in the last game of a four game road trip, and is road weary to say the least. Suns have been getting good play from Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire, but the big surprise has been the recent contribution from Joe Johnson. Suns are 9th in FG% but are ranked a lowly 18th in opponent FG%. Add to this their poor three point percentage of 33.7% and you can see they have trouble scoring with any regularity. Rebounding has been a problem for Phoenix and they rank 24th overall in caroms and explains why they are not getting any easy put backs.
Spurs on the other hand are led by league MVP Tim Duncan and of late the offensive play of Manu Ginobili who has been over twenty points in each of the last five outings. Tony Parker provides a steady hand at the point and makes sure Duncan gets the needed touches for team success. San Antonio is #1 in field goal defense (41%), a stat that does not bode well for the Suns. Couple this with the fact SA is 5th ranked in three point field goal percentage and 7th in defending the opposition’s three point attempts. Lastly you have a championship caliber San Antonio squad that is the league’s #1 overall rebounding team and first on the defensive glass by a significant margin.
Guys you know the RED ZONE is known for going against the public and taking the underdog, but we just can’t find anything to hang our hat on here.
Take the San Antonio Spurs at home, lay the points and win Saturday
