LA Clippers @ Sacramento Kings
We'll lay the wood tonight as the Sacramento Kings welcome the LA Clippers to Arco Arena.
The Kings have done a great job again this season of putting themselves in position to make a run at the NBA Championship. They have coped very well with many injuries and their 43-15 (.741) record is the best in the NBA.
Their only recent home loss was an obvious let-down performance against the Utah Jazz. Sacramento had given their all in a rare win at the Lakers the previous night and didn't come out mentally or physically prepared for the nagging Jazz. The Kings other recent home games have resulted in wins by 14, 8, 16 and 23 points against Phoenix, New York, Boston and Denver respectively. All-Star Brad Miller returned in that game against Phoenix and will be improved for the hit-out. Tonight they expect franchise forward Chris Webber to play his first game of the season following a knee injury and eight-game suspension.
Sacramento are a very reliable play on at Arco Arena against bad opposition going 10-3 ATS this season and 27-10 ATS the last three seasons as a home favorite of 9.5 to 12 points. And the Kings love a shoot-out as they are 11-5 ATS the last three seasons in games where the posted total is 210 or more.
The Clippers have dropped eight of 11 and their 25-33 (.431) mark is a whopping 18 games back from the Kings in the Pacific division. They have dropped seven of their last eight on the road and when they lose they tend to fall apart and lose bad....those seven losses were by an average of exactly 12 points per game.
Sacramento own the Clippers having won nine of the last ten in this series. Their average winning margin in those contests is 13.2 ppg and tonight at home we're forecasting them to win by around 15 points.
