Miami-Florida Hurricanes at Villanova Wildcats 7:30 pm EST

    Villanova –8.5 (2 Units)

Miami comes into this game losers of ten straight games. In their most recent loss to Seton Hall, the Hurricanes allowed the Pirates to shoot 54.9%, the fourth straight game and seventh of the past 10 in which an opponent shot 50% or better. In the past four losses, opponents averaged 56.6% shooting. They have lost five of their past six games by double digits. The Hurricanes rank 12th in the Big East in scoring defense (69.5 points allowed), 13th in field-goal percentage defense (44 percent), and 10th in blocked shots. Miami is also 13th in assist/turnover ratio. The Hurricanes chances of heading to the Big East Tournament are very slim. In order to move ahead of the Hoyas, Miami needs to win its final two games and Georgetown, which owns the tiebreaker over the Hurricanes, would have to lose its remaining three games. Good luck on that one. Villanova has lost their last 3 games but took Connecticut to the very end in a one-point loss on Saturday. Prior to that they had won 2 of their last 3 home games and even though their home record is at 6-6, they are 6-3 at the Pavilion this season. One win in the next two games will send the Wildcats into the Big East Conference tournament with a 15-14 record keeping their post season hopes alive. Teams must be at least .500 to gain an NIT berth. "In the big picture, I'm happy with where we are," Wildcats coach Jay Wright said. "We've had a lot of challenges this year. I would like to see the wins and losses be better, but sometimes improvement doesn't show in wins and losses. We've been inconsistent, but this is a group that could click at any time, and we're trying to keep that thought in their minds." Villanova is 4-0 ATS as favorites of 7.5 points or more and they are 6-2 ATS at home against teams with losing records. Miami is 5-11 ATS against above .500 teams. The Wildcats have won and covered the last 3 meetings including a 7-point win at Miami earlier this season.
