Southern California Trojans at Arizona Wildcats 8:30 pm EST

The Wildcats return home for their first game on their floor Since January 25th, a span of 4 straight road games in-between. They lost 3 of 4 of those road games but they are a different team at home, averaging 90.4 points per game to go with a 48.9 field goal percentage. In their last 4 home games excluding the loss to Stanford, the 3 wins were by 20, 34 and 24 points over Cal, Oregon St. and Oregon. The Trojans have been inconsistent all season long and they are in their worst slump of the year, winning only once in their past 6 games. Arizona will look to avenge a 9-point loss at USC earlier this season. Desmon Farmer scored a career-high 40 points as he hit 11-19 field goals to help the Trojans shoot 52.3% from the floor, including 64% in the second half. Despite the two losses, Arizona did manage to shoot 50% from the field in both games this week, raising their season field goal percentage to 48.0% (628-1309). In Pac-10 play, that figure jumps to 49.4% (353-714) in Pac-10 play. Arizona's field goal percentage has been on the rise recently, as the club has shot 50% or better from field in seven of 11 Pac-10 games, including five of the last seven. Coming back home has other benefits including getting off to a quick start. In the last three games, Arizona has had to dig itself out of a significant first-half hole. Arizona trailed Washington State 17-6, nine minutes into the game two Saturdays ago. Thursday, Cal jumped out to a 9-0 led in the first three minutes, and last Saturday at Stanford the deficit was 14-4 just five minutes in. The last eight times Arizona has entered a game riding a two-game losing streak, dating back to the 1996-97 season, the Cats have won each of those games by an average of 16.3 points.
