Before the season started if you told any baseball bettor that a Derek Holland (7-8, 3.46) vs. Joey Lucchesi (8-8, 3.67) matchup would draw a total of 7.5, you would have made a lot of cash. But even that is no longer low enough as the total has sunk to 7. There are plenty of reasons starting with two anemic offenses and the fact that Holland is 12-3 UNDER on the road this season. Toss in the Giants are 12-3 UNDER this month and this looks like a play.

Back at the All-Star break, this was supposed to a very important series. It turns out in truth, this only matters to the Yankees who are trying to hold onto home field advantage for the AL Wild Card clash over Oakland. New York with A.J. Happ (16-6, 3.57) has been pushed from -140 to -155 favorites over former Yankee Nathan Eovaldi (5-7, 4.22) and Boston. Have to side with Happ and the Yanks even if they are not playing particularly well since Eovaldi has an ERA over seven in this previous three starts, lasting only 9 1/3 innings.
