8.05pm ET
LA Lakers @ Cleveland Cavaliers
It will come as no surprise to regular readers that tonight we will once again be fading the LA Lakers on the road.
The Lakers have won just 8 of 21 road games straight-up this season so for them to be shorthanded and laying points against a good home team tonight is a big ask.
The Lakers are second in the Pacific at 28-17 SU but are only 19-26 ATS overall. Tonight is the third of a seven-game road-trip for LA and last time out they were unable to cope with the absence of Shaquille O'Neal and were pounded 85-72. That continued their horrible road record this season where they have covered at a bankroll-busting 28.6%.
While they will welcome Shaq back following his one-game suspension the Lakers will once again be without All-Star's Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone. And that means their starting five includes the very mediocre Kareem Rush, Devean George and Stanislav Medvedenko.
The Cavaliers are 19-29 SU and 23-24-1 ATS overall this season. They have been playing terrific basketball recently winning seven of their last nine games including last night's 85-82 win at Detroit. Carlos Boozer has been putting up All-Star numbers, LeBron James is a sensation, Zydrunas Ilgauskas is a very solid center and they have slotted reliable veterans Eric Williams and Jeff McIinnis into the line-up. Both Boozer and James are very disappointed at being snubbed for the All-Star game and will be very keen to make a statement on National TV tonight. The Cavs are a fantastic 16-8 ATS this season against teams with a winning record and tonight look to avenge a 89-79 loss three weeks back in LA.
Cleveland are a strong chance of winning this one SU and we'll recommend them getting points at home tonight.
