2 cents more, for those that dabble, I hope I don’t stink…
A sideways day in College, 6 up and 7 down, losing only a few dollars but still a losing day… Splitting two Premium Plays and my Select 50 plays went 4-3, while Limited 25 plays were 1-2.
I was wrong about the Hurricanes. I believed VA Tech would rise to the challenge, the Canes rolled. I also owe apologies to Spartan and Mizzou fans too. Well Played.
I gave out Clemson at -7 but since the morning lines moved to -8 then -9 and higher early, I’m taking the loss onsite, even though I pushed personally. And you Irish, my lovely Irish, I want to thank you for blowing that 27-point 4th Q lead allowing Wake to save face with 2 closeout TD’s…
NFL Sunday
There are currently 4 teams at -7 and all are home teams… sounds like a teaser play somewhere. As I post this, Philly, Saints, Houston, and Seattle are all -7, JAX is -6 and I wouldn’t be surprised if the public moves all 5 teams by ½ to 1.5 more than they are now.
One thing I like to look for is an underdog that I think can win outright. On this NFL slate… I don’t see many if any. I am sure there will be one or two, but who?
Giants are getting 4.5 from the league darling LA Rams with that West to East travel and an early game, 10 am their time, which I don’t consider as much of a factor here. NYG may be getting even more points by kick-off. I can’t really see NYG winning, as covering may be hard enough. Rams are grinding it out on the ground with Gurley and Goff is playing better and better. The Giant injuries are taking their toll and mangerial heads will roll.
Can the Bengals beat JAX? They're getting 6 points, so I’m interested. The Red Rocket has shown flashes of good play, Mixon and AJ are solid, but that JAX D is stiff. Can you believe we should be considering JAX a viable play-off winner with a solid Defense? Can we even begin to ask if JAX can win it all? But then we remember Bortles… let’s put a pin in the Bengals for now.
Ravens? After the Miami beat down, I am wondering if that was the same Ravens I’ve seen this year? You heard it here first... Baltimore Ravens may not win another game this year. I know, Browns and Colts come in 5 weeks, but we'll see... Titans get Davis back at WR and Mariota says he feels great. I just wish they would stop fooling around and let Henry take over at RB full time. Titans will be tough at home tomorrow.
49ers getting 3 at home vs AZ… you tell me. No, I mean it… I have no idea how you would handicap that game.
Denver getting +7, travels to Philly, though I don’t see an upset here, I’d like to think Philly will stumble sometime. Denver's defense may slow the Eagles enough to make this interesting. However, nothing on Denver’s offense make me think they’ll get more than 14 points. Can Philly get to 24 or more? If Philly stays clean they should be OK, but I also think that -7 will go up by kick… maybe as high as -9 I some casino guy just said? Just saying.
Tampa is struggling, Saints at home are hard to beat, and Tampa isn’t the team to do it… Saints -7 looks enticing, but I thought last week was a great Saints home play too.
Atlanta-2.5 @ Carolina will be one of the Marque games. The Falcon defense can be beat, can Cam and Co. get it done at home. Will the Panther Def contain Matty? I think the answer is yes to both questions.
No more luck for Luck, No Watson for Texans… what a boring weird game this may be… I had to look and see who is starting for Houston just now. Oh yeah, Tom Savage… how soon we forget. I do like this Brissett guy, and Marlon Mack is a comer, but the Colts make too many mistakes for me to risk cash on.
Skins +7 may be in for a tough game at Seattle. The injuries are mounting in DC and if Seattle plays their cards right, this may be over somewhere in the 3rd Q. Seahawks could be on an upswing for their patented second half run of the schedule. The running game is lite but serviceable and WR’s are becoming huge weapons for Russell.
KC and the Sunshine Boys will highlight the 3-game late set. Zeke gets one more reprieve. The Boys are -2.5 (-120) and the books are holding onto the line tightly. KC is vulnerable here, but the Boys don’t play the pass very well… Mr. Kelce please. And would you mind getting Kareem in the end zone!
If KC can stop Zeke and Zak, then KC wins… I can’t see how Dallas stops KC from getting into upper 20’s and 30’s… at 53, this is the highest total on the board, with Saints right behind at 52.5... we should see some points from your favorites, the ones you'll be keying on in Draft King.
The day ends with Miami hosting the Raiders. The Phish are getting 3 at home and it looks like Cutler will be back again… Matt, you had your chance and blew it. We were rooting for you… And Ajayi, we hardly got a chance to know you… Hey, Parker says he’s ready to go… everything will be alright now… right?
Oakland should have no excuse here not to run Miami over. But somehow, the Raiders or Miami or both will do something we didn’t expect.
Here’s some opinions… that may become wagers…
1. Panthers +2.5 at home are going to give Atlanta a lot to handle in Carolina… Carolina wins outright.
2. Don’t Sleep on Bengals, If Cincy’s Def can bottle up JAX run game, Bortles can’t pass to victory… Fournette is back, but how healthy and or rusty will he be…if he's right, the Bengals are the wrong side.
3. Titans should be ready to roll at home over Ravens, the -3 won’t matter IMHO.
4. Cutler and Phish are in trouble… Oakland will be your bail out play Sunday night, so maybe bet it early anyway.
5. TEASE TEASE TEASE… with 4 games at -7, one at -6, there are some options here. I think Philly and Seattle look tasty, Add Saints for better odds in a 3 team 6.5-point Tease +150. Just saying!
