The bad luck continued on Tuesday as we lost 2 games in the final minute for the second day in a row. That type of thing happens and we will get it back. The Dragons have won 4 of their 7 road games this season with all 3 losses coming by 7 points or less to Penn, Old Dominion and Virginia Commonwealth. Those teams are ranked 76th, 111th and 87th in the RPI respectively, while Hofstra is ranked 157th. Both teams have played similar schedules as far as strength goes but the Pride has lost to lesser quality opponents such as Monmouth and Stony Brook. Drexel isn’t afraid of road games as witnessed by their record this season. They had an impressive 10-6 mark away from home last year and won their final four regular season road contests. The Dragons were 7-2 in conference road games a year ago. The Dragons, whose three-game winning streak ended last Saturday when league leader Virginia Commonwealth shocked them by scoring off an inbounds play with no time remaining, rebounded with an impressive win over another top CAA team in George Mason on Monday. It was arguable their best performance of the season. The Dragons are 1st in CAA in both field goal offense and defense, shooting 47.2% from the floor while allowing just 41.2%. They are 3rd in three-point shooting at 36.1% while rank first in Assist/turnover ratio with 1.18. Junior forward Sean Brooks is tops on the team with 14.2 points per game, while leading the CAA in field goal percentage at 63.4%. Junior guard Phil Goss is also in double figures at 13.6 points per contest. Hofstra has had eight two-game win streaks since 2000-01, but never three in a row.
