  • NBA Predictions: Wizards Beal's Expected to have a breakout season

Even though he’ll be injured for a while, Bradley Beal is definitely still on the NBA expert picks list of best players for the 2014-2015 season. What he is suffering from is a fractured wrist, but it is one that should heal up nicely enough for him to put back on his uniform in a couple of months. That is what’s so good about having young bones. With Beal being just a tender 21 years young, he has so much more playing to do. This particular injury is being seen as simply a hiccup in his progress, and though the third year player has a short break from gameplay, he’s still expected to be a major factor in the success of the Wizards this season.

After starting in 73 games last year, nobody in Washington is expecting Bradley to take this injury lying down. With all the little ones that he’s had here and there in the past, they know him to be a fighter in these negative medical situations when he’s sidelined as well as when he struggles through them during games. He averaged 17 points last year, but him getting hurt so often has been a complication that seems to be a terrible case of bad luck. Overall, he’s missed eleven games over a sprained left ankle (an injury that is also known to show its face again after it happens initially), and he suffered a stressed right fibula that kept him out of eight games. He also missed a couple of contests due to soreness in his back (an injury that’s classically hard to deal with over time, just ask Steve Nash…), and didn’t make a handful of matchups because of a sprained wrist.

That three-pointer will be horribly missed in the first eight weeks of the season. He’s made a name for himself with it. Remember that Sacramento game when he dumped six from behind the arc, then tied his own rookie record later against Toronto? Classic. Fans have faith that this current wrist injury will heal well, and that Beal will be back out there shooting those deadly jumpers soon enough.
