Lets hope 2013 continues where 2012 left off. We have 1 bowl game and an NBA game with a best bet grade. With Tulsa's win yesterday, we are 6-1 in the bowls, including 2-0 with our best bets. Including today, we have 3 bowl games left, including 1 best bet grade.

Miss St vs Northwestern
PLAY ON: Northwestern
Mississippi St comes into this game after getting embarrassed in the Egg Bowl. Their Pass defense has played poorly down the stretch, giving up 7.1 YPA. They got off to a great start, but when facing the SEC powers, they were beaten pretty soundly. Their passing game wasn't bad, gaining 7.6 YPA, but it didn't translate into 3rd down conversions, particularly against the good teams, at only 34%. Northwestern is trying to win its first bowl game since 1949. They have played well in a lot of those games, they just couldn't make that one key plan to gain the victory. They are sound in the running game, important after a layoff, gainin 5 YPC and only giving up 3.6 YPC. Even though the passing game was uncharachteristically weak this season at 6 YPA, they were able to convert 3rd downs at 43%. Neither team is very good at defending 3rd down, giving up 42%. In the first game of the new year, we'll back the more motivated team in Northwestern.
