Minnesota vs Texas Tech
PLAY ON: Minnesota +13
Tommy Tuberville unexpectedly left Texas Tech for the football hotbed in Cinncinati. Needless to say, it stung the Red Raider program, and it still has them reeling. We believe it will affect them in this game. Minnesota had a nice season albeit in a down year for the Big 10. They return to a bowl for the first time in years. Neither of these teams finished the year strong, with Minnesota struggling in the passing game and TT on defense. The Red Raiders do have the statistical edge in just about every category, hence the almost 2 TD line. But they are mistake prone team, and with the coach's departure and the long layoff, we believe it will cost them in this game. Double digits is a bit too much to lay with this team in this situation, in our opinion. The only thing keeping this from a play is 3rd down conversions. Minnesota is only converting 31% and TT is converting 47%.
