    Week 10 RECAP

We had a 3-4 week, thanks to Jacksonville scoring a cheap one with 30 seconds left to ruin the under. But we did hit our best bet with UCLA, and easy 66-10 winner over Arizona. We are now hitting 56% in NCAAF, 63% in NFL, and 63% with our best bets, for a total of +11.9 units, which means if you are a $100 per game player, you would be up $1,190 for the season.

We have our $99 offer for the rest of the season, and basketball thru the SuperBowl. This also includes a free copy of my e-book "The Winning Edge", which covers the fundamentals of football and basketball, money management, and tips for selecting a handicapper.

    NCAAF

The one question facing Alabama was how would they react when challenged? After all, all of their previous games were decided by halftime, or early 3rd quarter ate the latest. In the 2nd half of that game, LSU, particularly the QB, played like an NFL team, and outplayed the Crimson Tide. But we know how it turned out. Oregon's offense is impressive, but its defense is not. Their game plan is to line up on offense, run as many plays as it can, and try to outscore you. The problem is, it puts their defense on the field. Alot. But if history is any indicator, it doesn't work against elite teams on defense. They have the athletes to cover all of those WR screens. Ohio St stoped them twice in consecutive Rose Bowls, and LSU blew them out last year. Even a so so defense team in Auburn slowed them down in the Championship game. I won't be a believer until they beat an elite team.....more than once....Louisville may go undefeated, but they have almost no shot at playing in the BCS Championship game. Teams ahead of them would have to lose not once, but twice. But their outstanding season will likely cost them their head coach, Charlie Strong. There will be 3 SEC jobs open after this season. I'll bet he gets one. Next week:

Texas AM vs Alabama: The Tide will no doubtedly be a little flat, and the Aggies come in with a hot QB. On the plus side, Texas AM runs an offense similar to Oregon, so if the Tide should meet up with the Ducks some time in the future, this game could be a blueprint for the gameplan.

Oergon St vs Stanford: Pretty much a round robin tournament with these two teams and Oregon for the PAC 12 North. The winner takes a major leap forward for the Rose Bow, at least.

    My Top 5: 1) Bama 2) Oregon 3) K State 4) Georgia 5) LSU

    NFL

At the halfway point for most teams, and most of the playoff spots have been determined, though the seeds have a long way to go.

NFC: Atlanta, Chicago, SF, GB, and the NY Giants are in, barring a collapse. That leaves one spot left in the NFC

AFC: Houston, Denver, Pittsburgh, NE, and Baltimore are in. That leaves one left in the AFC

A couple of teams that have looked bad recently and could freefall in the 2nd half of the season:

Tennessee: received the dreaded ultimatum from the owner

Philadelphia: received that dreaded ultimatun at the beginning of the season

Jacksonville: Ok, been freefalling for a while now

Washington: The head coach is already talking next year. Must have some nice job security

Is it possible that Andrew Luck is already making people in Indy forget Peyton Manning? He is having a phenominal rookie season and may garner a few MVP votes. Next week:

Dallas vs Philadelphia: this may be a game where the fan base of both teams want their team to lose to their rival so the head coach will have one foot out the door

Houston vs Chicago: Possible February preview?
