Our best week of the season to date: 5-2 including 2-0 on our best bets for 4.8 units
We are now seeing college football getting into the teeth of its schedule for most teams. The ACC takes another hit to that up and coming conference the Sun Belt when Georgia Tech lost at home, by 3 TD's to Middle Tennessee St. We have made some nice change with the Sun Belt this season. We get to find out how the following six teams will fit into the national title picture:
LSU vs Florida - we already knew LSU would be there, although the losses to injury and suspensions has made this team look less than worthy. Meanwhile, Florida seems to have found a QB who will face his first really tough defense in this game
Georgia vs South Carolina - both these teams were highly ranked coming in and the winner gets the inside track to the SEC East crown. Expect a hard hitting game in this one
West Virginia vs Texas - We know about now Heisman favorite QB Geno Smith, but is the Mountaineer defense good enough? Texas seems to have found a QB in David Ash, and the winner of this one takes a big step in the tough Big 12.
The NFL has completed the first quarter of its season for most teams, so we can now make evaluations based on what they have done so far this season.
It is clear that the defenses are back on track after getting shredded last season. Is it because of full offseason workouts? Maybe. But don't expect 50 TD passes or 5,000 yards this season be several QB's.
Atlanta and Houston seem to be the top two teams thus far
KC and Oakland seem to be destined for the bottom with little hope this season
New Orleans, Detroit, and the NY Jets are in trouble
