Dayton Flyers at Cincinnati Bearcats 8:00 pm EST
Dayton +10 (2 Units)
Dayton beat the Bearcats last year at UD Arena, 75-69 so Cincinnati will be out looking for revenge. That snapped an 11-game Cincinnati win streak in the series. Revenge may not come so easy however as both of these teams are experienced which is a big factor for the Flyers going on the road. Ramod Marshall is one of the best point guards in the Atlantic 10 Conference and listening to Brian Gregory on Monday night, he stated that Marshall is the key to this ballgame. Turnovers will be the deciding factor and Gregory has the confidence in his senior and that it is up to Marshall to control this game for his Flyers. Marshall entered their game on Saturday against Prairie View with only 12 turnovers on the season. He did commit 4 in their win over the Panthers but it should not be a concern. He has a 2.94 assist to turnover ratio, which is the perfect number for a point guard. His poise and patience are the keys. The Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in FG% (.479, 226-472) and FG% defense (.397, 211-531). Dayton is second in scoring margin (+8.6), rebounding margin (+7.4) and A/T ratio (1.17), and third in scoring (74.3), blocked shots (4.33) and assists (15.22). The rebounding edge will be another big factor in this game. Cincinnati is deep and they employ a bunch of full court pressure. Getting to the glass and not letting the Bearcats get their second chance points will keep the press off. Cincinnati has easily handled their first 6 games this season but this is by far their biggest test on the young season. The experience and strong inside game will help keep Dayton close in this big rival game.
