    Here is what RED ZONE SPORTS has to say about ATLANTA/TAMPA BAY:

    ATLANTA FALCONS @ TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
    SATURDAY DECEMBER 19, 2003 @ 1:30 EST

    HERE'S THE ANSWER
    FROM
    RED ZONE SPORTS

    We have an Atlanta Falcon team that is a miserable 3-11, has an interim coach since Dan Reeves' firing, playing on the road against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Bucs, who just won back-to-back games for the first time all season, improving to 7-7 and keeping their slim playoff hopes alive.

    Bucs are giving the lowly Falcons seven points and look like a clear winner as the team still alive, playing against an opponent running out the string.

    RED ZONE says, "Don't believe all that talk!", and predicts we're going ugly in the first of the NFL's annual Saturday encounters after college football goes to the bowl season.

    TB statistically is clearly the stronger team with an adequate offense scoring 18.4 points per game and a strong defense giving up a mere 14.1 points per outing. In comparison Atlanta averages 17.7 on "O" and gives up a large 27.1 on the defensive end.

    RED ZONE says, "Lets put these stats into true perspective! " Falcons have played without a truly healthy Michael Vick for nearly 90% of the season, and their offense has had trouble staying on the field for any significant time of possession. What this means is a tired defense on the field all the time giving up points. While the trends also favor the Buccaneers - TB has won and covered in the last six meetings in this series - they are only 2-10 ATS as a favorite of four or more points against an opponent with a .400 or less record, like the Falcons. This is obviously not the Tampa Bay team of last year and Michael Vick could be their worst nightmare, a QB who makes something out of nothing when flushed out of the pocket by pass rush or blitzes

    All public sentiment will be on the side of the Buccaneers which will increase the value line on Atlanta. Stick with your boys from the ZONE, take the seven and the Atlanta Falcons to cover and possibly even beat Tampa Bay outright and win ugly as we do here occasionally at the RED ZONE!!

    * * *

    And there you go. RED ZONE does call a lot of these "ugly" games and wins 'em, so this just may be a good one to get down on.

    FINALLY, WHAT'S UP this weekend?
