We're forecasting a defensive struggle tonight in a match-up of two of the Eastern Conference's best teams.
Central Division rivals the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers face off in what should be a great game.
The Pistons are 15-10 SU this season and 10-14 O/U. Amazingly nine of their last ten games have gone Under the total and their solitary Over was by less than a bucket. Detroit's seven most recent Unders have been by 29, 22, 15, 5, 17, 20 and 34 points. They have the fourth-best defense in the NBA allowing just 87 ppg and in their last game allowed the Bulls to shoot just 31% on the way to 73 points.
At 19-7 SU the Pacers have the best record in the Eastern Conference. They have also been profitable for their backers at 17-9 ATS while their Over/Under record is 9-17. But they have failed to cover three straight games largely due to their struggles against the zone defenses they have encountered and last time out lost outright at home to the Magic as 10 point favorite's. In their last three games the Pacers have made just 37%, 46% and 42% from the field and with Detroit employing a zone don't expect them to be over 40% FG tonight.
The Under is 6-3 in this series the last three seasons including 3-1 at Conseco Fieldhouse.
We're forecasting at least one of these teams to score under 80 points and expect this one to go Under.
