A disappointing night as we lose and push a game in the last seconds on Friday. As usual, we were doing research around the clock while other services were busy throwing darts, avoiding the hard work it takes on days like this. Penn St. is looking to rebound from two back-to-back big losses while the Owls return home after a disappointing loss at Arizona St., a game in which they had in their grasp but couldn’t put it away. Temple was thin inside before that game and now they are even worse off. Antywane Robinson sprained his left ankle and will miss the next 2 games while Michael Blackshear is still out, not eligible to return until December 19th. That leaves the Owls with Keith Butler as their only man inside who is averaging more than 10 minutes per game. Head coach John Chaney went for much of the second half in their last game against Arizona St. with a four-guard lineup. Penn St.’s leading scorers are forwards Jan Jagla and Deforrest Riley-Smith, averaging a combined 28.8 ppg and 14.7 rpg. Arizona St. was able to take advantage of the lack of size Temple has and Penn St. should be able to do the same. Temple is 228th in the country is shooting defense, allowing 45.5% from the floor. The Nittany Lions are one of the better defensive teams in the country, allowing only 39.4%, which is 53rd in the nation. In their last 5 games, Penn St. has not allowed an opponent more than 64 points. It has been the offense that has hurt them recently but they should find the going much easier on Saturday.
