The Los Angeles Lakers look to win their 10th straight overall and seventh in a row at home over the Utah Jazz when the teams meet for the first time since last season's Western Conference quarterfinals.The Lakers improved to a league-best 16-3 and 13-2 at home with a 108-88 victory over Phoenix on Sunday and defeated the Jazz in five games in the 2009 conference quarterfinals. Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, Lamar Odom added 26 points and 15 rebounds in the decisive contest, a 107-96 victory at the Staple Center. Including the postseason, the Lakers have won 12 straight at home over the Jazz since 2006, a game in which Bryant was suspended. The Jazz are winners of 8 of 10 after beating San Antonio 104-101 on Monday as Deron Williams finished 8 of 16 from the field and scored 17 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 22 seconds remaining. After averaging 22.0 points and 12.0 assists in three regular-season games versus the Lakers last season, Williams scored 20.2 points per game with 10.8 assists in the playoff series and Carlos Boozer, the reigning Western Conference player of the week is averaging 22.8 points and 12.0 rebounds in four games. He averaged 20.6 points and 13.2 boards against the Lakers in the playoffs after missing two of the regular-season matchups due to injuries. The Jazz have been looking forward to this game after the Lakers knocked them out of the playoffs last year although they will have the same problem which is rebounding against this longer and bigger Laker team. Both teams are playing great basketball and this game will be competitive with a lot of points scored as Deron Williams will dominate the point guard position but the Lakers will again dominate in the paint.
