Indiana Pacers at New Jersey Nets 7:05 pm EST

    Indiana +5 (2 Units)

New Jersey is hurting while Indiana is winning thanks to their defense. New Jersey is missing Kenyon Martin (their second best player), Rodney Rogers (their first forward off the bench) and Lucious Harris (their first guard off the bench), which has blown apart any semblance of a normal rotation. The lack of depth showed against Houston on Tuesday and it won’t get any better tonight. Harris is not eligible to come off the injury list until Friday. Martin is still doubtful and Rogers didn't think he was going to be able to play either. Along with depth issues, New Jersey is just plain getting tired. They had three starters play at least 40 minutes and paid for it late. The Nets have entered the fourth quarter with a lead in all four of their games, but they have only come away with 2 wins. Indiana won their last game pretty ugly over Denver 71-60 but coach Rick Carlisle called it the "best sustained defensive effort we've had this year" and a building block for the future. The Pacers are averaging 96 points on the road in their two games while New Jersey is putting up only 79.5 ppg in their two games at home. Jermaime O’Neal is coming off his 4th 20-20 game of his career and he is getting closer to the elite class on the NBA. Along with Ron Artest and Al Harrington, the frontline should execute well the Nets. Reggie Miller, who is getting older and not the same player he once was, is back healthy and can still provide a spark on offense. We feel that the depth will be an issue once again for New Jersey and Indiana will keep this one close with another late Nets collapse not out of the question.
