    (375) Buffalo Bulls at (376) Toledo Rockets 7:00 pm EST

    Toledo –26 (3 Units)

The Rockets are still in the race for the MAC West title and with Northern Illinois and Bowling Green still on the slate, they can't slip up against the Bulls. These are the type of games that the Rockets flourish in and they should have no problem running the table on Saturday.

Toledo is coming off a very bad loss last week at Ball St. Their running game was ineffective due largely to a rain soaked field that really slowed them down. They now return to the turf bringing their 5.0 ypc average against a Buffalo team that is allowing 5.1 ypc. Their huge offensive line should be able to push around the much smaller Bulls and open huge holes for the “Baby Backs”. Buffalo comes in ranked 111th in rushing defense, 100th in passing defense and 110th in total defense. They are allowing 35 ppg, which ranks them at 106th in the country.

The Bulls are last in the MAC and second to last in the nation in total offense, scoring offense and passing offense. The Rockets average over 28 points per game this year, including 42 ppg at home, while Buffalo has yet to score more than 26 points in any game this season. They are averaging just 12.5 ppg on the year and only 7.5 ppg in their 4 road games and have not scored more than 10 points in any of the contests.

Toledo head coach Tom Amstutz has been good at bringing the Rockets back after a loss. Toledo has lost two straight only once in two-plus seasons under the long-time Rocket assistant. Amstutz said he expects his team to be sharp for Buffalo, which plays UT for the first time - and makes its first trip to Toledo - since joining the MAC in 1999. "We sure learned a lesson and got slapped in the face," he said referring to their loss at Ball St. last weekend. "Football is a humbling game and we have been humbled. So we're going to have to get up off the ground, strap it back up and go out there and see what we can do."
