  • Do people really pay this much?

I am not sure how I got this. But I get it almost on a weekly basis.

Does anyone here know have paid this much for a service?

    October 30, 2008

    Hello Loyal Geek Clients,

We have once again been working behind the scenes to offer our Clients the very best opportunity any sports service has to offer.

Tonight we have an NBA game which is guaranteed to cover the spread by 10 points or more. How we got the game is our business, your business is having the opportunity to participate in the game with us.

This game is stronger than any Inside Info game we have ever released, and we will have very strict parameters on how this game is handled.

Below we have outlined the details of this opportunity.

First and foremost, this opportunity will be limited to only 30 clients. The game will be sold on a first come first serve basis. As soon as we receive payment from the 30th client, the opportunity will be shut down.

We all know the reason for this. A lid must be kept on this type of game or we will never see another one.

The cost of the game is $1000

The game plays tonight in the NBA

The game is guaranteed to cover the spread by 10 points or more.

The game will be released at exactly 6:00 PM (EST)

You can bet any amount you wish on the game.

We hope you are able to capitalize on this opportunity with us.

Here is the link to purchase the game

    Sincerely,

What I think is funny about this is not just the hillbilly picture on their site but if you click on to purchase their plan, the company that does their billing is also owned by The Geeks.

Win or lose, only the stupidest most naive person imaginable would fall for this line of shit and pay $.02 let alone $1000.
Obviously, the 30 client limit is another comeon to make it sound like they really know what is going to happen and thud they wish to protect the line.
I assure you if there was a fix in an NBA game, which seems to be the implication here, no service which knew about it would advertise it especially with the recent NBA officiating scandals investigations.

Personally as a service, that is just a ploy. 30 customers only? Trying to make a quick G-note. Sounds like its a favorite play on the night and I would say that none of the home favorites Thursday will win by 10 or more let alone the one he is on.
Don't fall for any of the first come first served stuff.
If the guy has posted consistant winners consistantly then maybe but I have yet to see many services actually post one of these HUGE MONEY plays. Obviously they fail to win as much as they claim.

Unkle, I hope you don't mind.

In general the sports services are very much trial lawyers-the ones which have the most success revenue wise are those who can convince the "jury"(in this case potential subscribers) by any means that their client is innocent even if he is or is not(or in this case that their picks are the best even if they are not).
Both trial lawyers and many sports services and adept and slick in presenting their case.
Lawyers attempt to cast doubt about the charges made against their client.
Successful sports services in the same vein spin their record, lie, deceive, misrepresent, tell half truths and a host of other things to convey the impression that they are the best.
Services which have been around for a longtime like Feist, Cokin, Ness, Spreitzer, Root, Feiner, etc. spend plenty of money to try to create the impression they wish to and have a lot of experience in knowing what works, appeals to their target group and especially to newbies(Games of Something ,Lock of the Millenium, First Time EVER Game of Something, etc.).
Thankfully, the Internet has exposed many of them for what they are and they can no longer get away with as much bs with as many people as they used to.
In short, trial lawyers and sport services are different animals with entirely different goals.
However, when all is said and done, it all comes down to perception in both cases, and those which do the best job succeed.
ps In all fairness, there are some honest and most importantly good sports services to which above doesn't apply.
My remarks are directed at the types which are mediocre at best over time, but which try to give the totally false impression that their picks are second to none and that they really do have these "can't miss locks" based on such factors as privileged inside information and so-called 104-6 systems which no one else knows other than the service claiming it.
Also, I realize this is a rather long post with no picks contained, but I think it is relevant especially for those who are new and don't know the ropes as well as this season veteran of 30+ years of following sports services and knowing their modus operandi.

This aftermath service guy went 0-5 in college on Saturday November 1. Lost a great deal of pro hoop bets also on Saturday and just about lost every baseball playoff game he picked. Rough week and maybe he wasn't thinking clearly when he made his remarks.

All trial Lawyers do not defend scumbags. There are many that fight for the plaintiffs so your analogy is partially correct, but not on the deceptive facts for a trial lawyer representing a plaintiff in most cases.

I'm not here to cause any trouble but I'm not sure where to put this. Figured this spot is cool and I feel this guy is not what he claims and I just want guys to see this garbage for themselves. This person has been internet fighting with a host of people and I know he's fought with good people here.If the powers that be remove this post, I fully understand.
This guy Aftermath has an nba basketball quarter system and it's been rough waters for A.W.S.A. since the season began. How can one claim to be a service with garbage remarks like this?

                    11-02-08,
                    Aftermath
"Your tune will change within the next 30 days chengy. Watch closely, you may learn something. Then again I don't have to post a thing in all honesty. This is the opening of the season, nothing etched in stone yet.
After this week the real system will begin. This is the preseason of NBA props so-to-speak."
