3* CLE +3.5
Seems as though the leagues worst AFC teams will pair off today as the Browns face the Bengals. Cleveland is obviously the better team here but have failed to put up points. Look for them to break the slump this afternoon as they should win this game outright and put Marvin Lewis job on the line. Cleveland is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Cincy but Cleveland is 5-2 ATS against divisional opponents, last 7. They are also 7-2 ATS against the AFC recently. They also have played well after a big loss previously holding a 13-4 ATS mark. Cincy is 1-6 ATS after an ATS win the week before, their last 7. Cleveland should win this outright.

3* KC +10
I love the Chiefs in this spot at home against a Denver team that hasnt impressed me yet. Week 1 they looked good but Oakland really looked bad. Week 2, they got some help from the officials to win. Last week again a 2 point win. Eventually these decisions dont go your way. Could happen today. When a 3-0 team faces a home dog that is 0-3 and looks like they would go 0-16, think again. I cant say KC will win this outright but a cover is highly likely. Getting double digits even helps matters. KC is 7-3 ATS when playing home against a team with a winning road record. Denver is only 2-6-1 ATS at KC recently. Denver also struggles vs. AFC as they show a 5-13-1 ATS record in their last 19. I see a three point finish either way. Dont be surprised.

3* HOU +7
For as bad as the Texans have looked they really arent a bad bet ATS especially against divisional opponents. The Dog in this series recently is 5-2 ATS and the Texans are 9-3 ATS against the Jags in the last 12 meetings. When the Texans fail to put points on the board in a prior week the following game shows them winning 5 of 6 ATS after the fact. They didnt score that many points last week. Look for them to keep this close at least. The Jags havnt looked all that great and when you look deeper they have been a slow starting team. Last season and this season they are 2-5 ATS in the opening month, along with a 0-4 ATS their last 4 week 4 NFL games. Texans keep this within a TD.

3* STL +9
The Bills are 3-0. Go figure. After being the loser in late game heroics previously they are now on the winning end of these games. No team is more physical than Buffalo. Rams are in a bad way. Bulger was benched, the team is not happy about it. Trent Green starts today and will have to have fear of another concussion. Why would I take the Rams you ask? Well I feel the Bills will beat themselves today. They shouldnt be laying this much on the raod as they are a much better home team. They failed to cover the similar spread at home last week. Rams will make minimal mistakes and in fact keep this one tight. Buffalo is known for playing tight games, trailing in most. They are not a team that will blow you out week after week. Rams get the early jump in this one, and dictate the pace.

3* SAN DIEGO -7.5
San Diego is the only favorite I show on my board today as they go on the road to face Oakland. The Chargers won last week after they were wronged against Denver. I feel they will continue the winning this week and put Oakland completely out today. San Diego has been impressive against Oakland. Spreads rarely come into play. Only twice out of the last 10 meetings have the line mattered. San Diego is a convincing 9-1 ATS in the last 10 mtgs. They have also won the last 5 ATS at Oakland, in which the last 4 were as favorites. In those 4 games they win by an average of almost 15 points. Lay em!

No matter what the line reads I would always suggest playing anyway as line moves vaguely come into play with my selections. Baltimore brings a 6-21 ATS record along with them tonight at Pittsburgh. The Steelers look to avenge a loss last week and they need this game if they want to keep pace with Baltimore. Piitsburgh has averaged roughly 24 points in their last 5 meetings at home with the Ravens. Baltimore averaged 16 in those games. The over is 6-1 in the last 7 at Pittsburgh. Look for at least 40 to be put up in this one. Defensive TD among some offensive scoring as well. Pitt 24-16.

Last week the NCAAF system was in full force. Previous situations and research went 2-1 on the day. I have also gone 5-1 in my last 6 selections with this system which was hibernating early this year. Hopefully the 15-3 all football run will continue first with this game. Through 6 weeks of CFB over the last 3 seasons this system has gone 33-12 for almost 75 percent winners. Kansas St is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 home games along with a 4-1 ATS recently in October. Texas Tech holds wins ATS in the last 4 meetings, but havnt done well ATS against teams that have winning home records. Tech is 4-0 while Kansas St are 3-1 on the young season, 3-0 at home mind you. 4* Carolina -3
Carolina looks to get some revenge after last years beating 31-6 at home from New Orleans. Look for Carolina to get back to usual form today. Carolina is 3-0 at home on the season and play an 0-2 road Saints division rival. Both are coming off blowout games last week as the Panthers got rocked by Tampa and the Saints whipped Oakland. This game favors Carolina whether it is a high scoring affair or not. Saints are not good in recent showings after a SU win, going 1-5 ATS in the next game. They are also 3-9 ATS recently after a cover. Carolina is 5-0 ATS in ther last 5 games after a SU loss. They are also 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, and 6-1-1 ATS after a blowout loss. Panthers by 6.


4* NY Giants -10.5
The Giants look to get back on track and get some sweet redemption at home after their off performance last Monday. It is a short week for the G-Men but they need to take advantage of a home game against a weaker opponent, especially with the Cowboys completely banged up. Dont discount the Skins either as they are right there in the division race. The Niners, with JT OSullivan as QB dont look all that bad but dont look good either. They lost to the Giants by 18 last season. The Giants have played extremely well in October of late going 9-2 ATS. The Niners are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Giants have been great after a SU loss going 5-0 ATS. They are also 20-8-1 ATS against the NFC in the last 29 ballgames. Giants defense will pester the Niners all afternoon. NYG by 2 TDs, 31-17. Lay em!

4* Baltimore +3
With the Ravens and Dolphins I am betting that Joe Flacco has a very good performance today, better than previously. He has thrown 7 INTs compared to 1 TD pass this season but the Ravens are playing a Miami team who picked up their first and only win last year against them. Dont think Ray Lewis and the Ravens have forgotten. Throw in the fact that the Dolphins had a let down last week blowing a lead very late and losing to the Texans. Baltimore started out 2-0 on the season but have since lost to Pit by 3, Tenn by 3, and the Colts by 28 last week. Baltimore is undervalued this week after the beating they took last week and I expect these types of games to finish as a 1 or 2 point game. This one should see a lot of FGs. Look for a 22-20 final.

Giants play is the only one pending at this point. Baltimore and Carolina in front comfortably.

Here's the late NFL selections.

4* Oakland +3
I particularly like this game because of a few big reasons. One, the Jets had to travel cross country and in the past these teams that travel long distances before playing a game usually dont fair well at all. Secondly, the bettors are counting the Raiders completely out as they got handed a beating at New Orleans last week. Look for them to get back and play tough at home this week. The Jets arent the greatest team in the AFC nor are they one of the worst but for this team to lay on the road is mind boggling. The Jets could very easily blow this game especially if Favre gets roughed up by a more than hungry Raider defense. Take the points with the home dog, Oakland wins by a FG.

2* Washington -7
The Redskins look to get sweet revenge after the humiliating loss to the Rams last week. The Browns are coming off of an emotional Monday Night win. It is a tough call in this one and this pick is the least confident one of the day. Teams coming off of a MNF win are 5-1 ATS the following week. Look for Cleveland to come out and battle this Skins team. With Dallas and Philly in the rearview the Skins need a win here to keep pace with the Giants. This line has dropped from 9 but it will all depend on how well the Skins offense can do this afternoon. Skins by 10.

NE -2.5 (-120 on the 0.5 point buy)
Buying the half point for precautionary measures. I dont want to witness a 3 point NE win and a push on this one. I dont think this line will play a factor but I am not taking a chance.
New England has been in this spot before. A few weeks ago they were humiliated by Miami, then came back to beat SF. Last week they were hammered by 20, now set up at home under the MNF lights. Look for NE to prove they still have talent, by getting a big win in this crucial game. Cassel should be able to perform decent enough to keep this team within striking distance. Denver has been lucky this season as they started out finishing on the right side of one and two point games. After a 3-0 start they lost to KC and Jac last week at home, and barely beating Tampa. Belichick has the Pats ready for this game. A loss would most likely end their season. Pats D steps up big tonight and should win by at least 3-4. Should end up in the 24-20 range.

NFL week 8

$400 DALLAS -1
TB vs. Dallas is my GOW. I am most confident in Dallas. When a team looks like they are at their absolute worst they will find a way to get a win the next week. We see this all the time. Dallas got destroyed last week by the Rams. They also lost the week before. With Johnson at the QB position, how in the world could they be laying points. The public is on TB at a 2-1 clip. Another fishy line for Sunday but I will bank on a few things. The Boys will play one of their best defensive games of the season today. Brad Johnson is at home this week and got all the butterflies out last week. Dallas needs this win today more than any other team in the NFL. Tampa didnt look overly dominant at home last week. The Boys get this desperation game at home. Boys by 4.

With the 5-1 Buffalo Bills going to Miami and just laying one, there is something that hits you in the face saying what is up with that. There is something tricky about this one as the public loves Buffalo. They have owned Miami in previous meetings and I see the Bills having a let down here as they are more concerned with the games against NE and NY upcoming. Miami is the least of their worries. The Dolphins will take out some revenge on the Bills this week as they have failed to cover in the last 8 meetings. This Miami team is more competitive this year then in any of the recent years past. Look for them to pull off the upset at home this week. They were made fools of last week at home vs. Baltimore and lost to Houston in the final minute of play the week before. Miami by 3.
$400 NEW ORLEANS +3
The London game as we know it. The London faithful may actually root for the bigger named players here, LT being one. Rule out home field for the Saints. Reggie Bush is out. Both teams are on the verge of obscurity here with a loss today. I personally cant see either team losing this week but I like to look at it in terms of the team that has the better chance to actually make the playoffs with a loss. SD has no competition in the AFC West. KC and Oakland are done. Denver is mediocre at best. With a Saints loss, their playoff hopes will fade dramatically. The Bucs and Panthers are pulling away. NO needs this one more and I am not impressed with SD this season. I think SD has the better chance to still make the playoffs with a loss. Look for the Saints to upset SD in London by 3.

Brett Favre and the Jets are huge faves today at home after their loss last week. The public is all over them. I feel they are a little too over-valued here. The Jets havent looked good against some of the leagues worst this year. Their biggest win was Arizona at home by 21 in a no defense game, and Cincy at home by 12. KC was roughed up by Tennessee last week 34-10 and Carolina before the bye week 34-0. Look for the Chiefs to stay with the Jets most of the way. I dont expect them to upset NY but they will keep it entertaining. KC may actually get into the fourth string QB this week if Thigpen gets hurt or is inneffective. Look for the Jets to pull away late, and miss the cover giving us the win. Jets by 13.

Upset special!!! Look for the Bengals to pull this one out today. I think on the moneyline they are the best value play of the day. As for the spread...The Bengals have played Dallas tough, along with the Jets and even almost beat the champion Giants. Look for Cincy to get a win today but more importantly at least a cover. Houston is not a good team and these games where they are laying double digits is just wrong. This team barely beat Miami, they blew a lead to the Colts, and almost did the same last week to the lowly Lions after leading big. The Texans failed to cover last week and they will fail to win or cover this week. You can find the +10 at 5 dimes but even at +9 it is still a great play. Cincy by 3.
$100 NEW ENG -9
Look for the Patriots to make a run for the division title now that they disposed of Denver last week. Teams that have won on Monday Night Football are an impressive 6-1 ATS the following week. Cleveland covered last week after beating the Giants on MNF. Look for NE to put out the Rams fire after they have beaten two of the NFCs best in the last 2 weeks. Now they have to play at NE and these fans and this team are officially pumped up. Brady is not coming back this year, obviously, so they have to make good on what they are playing with. Matt Cassel will do fine filling in. He has the best supporting cast in the league. St. Louis will be back to their old ways this afternoon turning the ball over and getting blown out. Pats will win this one easily by at least 10.

CINCY +300
One of two moneyline plays today. When Aftermath is in control and winning he will certainly take a few chances. These are not premium selections but could be a good swing play. This is risking a unit to win 3 in return. The Bengals are under valued here and the Texans are over valued. They barely beat Detroit last week at home. Cincy is better.
SEATTLE +200
Play two of two on the moneyline today. When Aftermath is in control and winning he will certainly take a few chances. These are not premium selections but could be a good swing play. This is risking a unit to win 2 in return. I think just about everone has counted Seattle out but this division game will always see some strange stuff happening. Look for the upset here as Seattle owes some payback after losing to SF at home. They have done well ATS vs. SF so you may want to play the spread instead but this play is worth a shot.
