Clemson/Florida State under 45.5
Figure I might as well try and break down this game since i am here in clemson county.
I don't care what you all tell me....that spread looks like a total and complete trap. I have looked long and hard at this game and I just can't see how Florida State is only favored by three points. It just doesn't make sense. Clemson has a new quarterback who has played backup for the past two years. The last thing you want have in your first game is that Florida State defense.
In saying that, Clemson brings back two GREAT running backs in James Davis and supurb sophmore CJ Spiller. The edge in the running game is clearly in favor for clemson as Clemson beat Florida State last year behind the legs of Davis. Spiller was a non factor.
So as much as Tommy Bowden would love to air it out and score some points, the last thing he wants to do is have QB Cullen Harper have to win the game for him. So i really see Clemson being extreamly boring for a majority of the game and trying to ball control.
Florida State has a new offense coordinator this year, and expectations are very high that incosistant QB Drew Weatherford will have a breakout year. That may be...but I don't see that starting tonight. Clemson still will have a pretty good defense, some GREAT linebackers, and should be able to contain the Florida State offense tonight.
I see a lot of turnovers and a lot of FG's tonight.....
We'll see. My heart is with Clemson, but I just can't take em based on that line. That line is screaming trap.
I'll play the under based on two quality defenses matched up with two very suspect offenses at the moment.
