Here's my first Bottom Line College Football Selection for the 2003 season:
For August 30th, take UAB -9 @ Baylor
This play is more a play against a truly bad football team (Baylor) than going with a solid one. UAB welcomes back 16 starters, 9 on offense including practically their whole offensive line except at center. Baylor on the other hand has a new head coach in Guy Morriss and I have to believe that problems with it's athletic program as a whole are going to be tough on the Bears players this season. Regardless of this factor, the talent level at key positions just isn't to be found for the Bears this season.
Baylor was dreadful against the spread last season going 0-9 ATS as a dog (3-15 ATS past 2 years) so let's look for the Bears to continue their misery and get beat by a more experienced and more talented club in the Blazers. UAB should win by at least 16.
Last season these Bottom Line Free selections went 13-5, hopefully UAB will get us going strong for this season!
