Next MLB Release will be on Thursday at 5:15 P.M. CST!!!
#964 San Diego -175 (Chico vs Hensley)
2-Units (9:05 P.M. CST)
We went 1-1 on Tuesday, winning our Play of the Day with Cleveland, but losing a close one with Boston blowing a 4-2 lead in the top of the 9th.
Today we will be looking at the Washington/San Diego game. Both of these teams are struggling offensively. The Padres are batting just .224 as a team (.193 in their last seven), while the Nationals have been shut out in two of their last three games and have managed to score three runs or less in 18 of its 27 games this season.
San Diego sends Clay Hensley to the mound. Hensley started the season slowly(0-3 12.21 ERA first 3 games), but has showed promise in his last two outings, going 1-0 with a 2.92 ERA.
Washington will be countering with rookie Matt Chico. Chico is in much the same situation as Hensley. Chico started the season by giving up 6 runs in 4 innings against Florida, then settled in. He is coming off a solid performance against the Mets giving up only 2 runs in 5 innings.
San Diego has had success against lefties this year (.280 BA), while Washington has struggled against righties.(.227 BA). Chico has not pitched past the 5th inning in any of his games, while Hensley has made it to the 6th innng only twice.
Tonight's game may very well be decided by the team with the best bullpen, and there is no doubt who has the advantage. Washington's relievers have a 4.41 ERA on the Season(6.04 L3), while San Diego's relievers have a 1.47 ERA and (2.14 L3).
Recommendation:
San Diego -175 for 2-Units.
Thanks and Good Luck
