Very easy win by the Astros on Thursday, as Wood doesn't get past 4 innings.
Philadelphia – Myers +105 (3 Units)
The Cardinals are struggling and Danny Haren has been ineffective his last 3 starts even though he walked away with a win in one of those. He has allowed 5 earned runs in 2 of his last 3 starts and has yet to pick up a win at home in his 4 starts at Busch Stadium. He allows too many runners to reach base to be effective as his WHIP is 1.50 while his BAA is a whopping .301. Brett Myers has not gotten the job done in his last 2 starts, although he did pick up one win, but he is 7-1 his last 12 starts while the Phillies are 9-3 in that span. He picked up a 5-4 victory over Haren in his last start. The Phillies ran into a buzz saw as they went to Milwaukee and were swept in the 3-game series after winning 5 straight. 3 of those 5 wins came against the Cardinals. They have played to the level of their competition all season long. The Phillies are 15-19 against the five worst teams in the National League: Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, New York, Milwaukee and San Diego. They are 54-38 against everybody else. Both teams are fighting for their respective playoff lives so we will go with the much better pitcher to start this series.
