The Arizona Wildcats are in one of the worst stretches in Lute Olson's 24 year coaching career and will try to win back-to-back games for the first time in more than a month when it visits Oregon State Tonight who is in the PAC 10 basement. The 24th-ranked Wildcats (15-7, 6-5 Pac-10) were riding a 12-game winning streak after a victory over Washington on Jan. 4 and then the team went on to lose six of its next eight games, including the worst home loss during Olson's tenure, 92-64 to North Carolina on Jan. 27. Arizona followed that defeat with a 72-66 loss to Washington State last Thursday, but finally got it together by closing its four-game homestand routing Washington 84-54 in which they shoot 57.4 percent from the field as five Wildcats scored in double figures. The Wildcats have been allowing opponents to score 72.8 points per game and have lost their last three road games. This will be the second meeting between Arizona and Oregon St. this season as the Wildcats led by 15 at half-time and beat the Beavers 83-72 on Jan. 11 in Tucson behind Marcus Williams' 27 points. Marcel Jones led Oregon State with 26 points in that loss and he tops the team with 15.9 points per game. The Beavers are coming off a horrible to loss to UCLA Saturday 82-35, but they look for them to play their best at home to revenge the embarrassment on Saturday. The Wildcats are too inconsistent this year to cover a double-digit spread on the road.
