  • Sunday's Entire Card Inside

A 2-3 Saturday easily could have been a 4-1 Saturday. A couple bounces the other way and we have a huge day. Are we disappointed in the outcome? Of course. Are we disappointed in our handicapping? Not by any means. The only bad play was Kansas City while the remaining selections and top notch analysis are the same quality you receive every day as a member.

We are heading out on vacation next week before football really gets going. If you are thinking about a service for football, look no further. Our early bird football package is in effect until August 23rd and can be purchased for only $299. It includes both NFL and NCAA selections right through the Super Bowl. Sign Up Here If you sign up while we are away, your service will begin on August 19th. We are including our entire card for Sunday for free to show you what goes into our plays and what you get for every single selection we make. You don't get false hype and useless made up stories that you see from other inferior services. What you get is hard work and quality information. Good luck this weekend and we look forward to serving you in the very near future.

New York Jets -4 (3 Units) 1:00 pm EST

Herm Edwards was not happy with his teams' performance in Japan against Tampa Bay last weekend. He was fuming after the game. At the Tokyo airport, where both teams mingled, Edwards was in no mood to socialize with his former team. He sat alone, poring over the stat sheet. "Hopefully," Edwards said, "we learned a lesson." Edwards has been known as a coach who want to go out and win games as much as evaluating his players on the field. Edwards repeatedly has said he wants to go downfield more to stretch the defense, and for the second straight day, practice reflected that. They threw several go-routes to Santana Moss, who had a highlight-reel grab down the right sideline in the morning session. Even though it's against offensive coordinator Paul Hackett's nature, he admits the Jets need that added dimension to keep opposing defenses honest. "It is [against his style]," he said. "But ... if you don't throw the ball downfield you're going to struggle in everything you do." We'll see Pennington more today than we saw him in the opener and based on the way the offense looked on their first drive against Tampa Bay, a little more of that on Sunday would be nice. Edwards said the starters would play about a quarter. Once again, rookie DT Dewayne Robertson will play longer than the rest of the defensive starters. Although Edwards said the Jets try to win preseason games, new Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said he is concerned only with getting the Bengals ready for the regular season opener "There is some significance," Lewis said of the Jets game, "but it is one game. It's the one before next week's game, and we have to build and do things better and better as we go. We don't need to be slapping backs after this game." To Lewis, the process of improving is more important than winning preseason games. "We are going in with a plan, and we will stick to the plan," he said. "You don't want to alter the plan in order to change the outcome of the game. I think that learning how to win is important, but we don't need to overemphasize it in the preseason. I don't think that if we go undefeated in the preseason that we have arrived." As far as rotations, Lewis did say that the starters would stay in the whole first quarter, which quite honestly, based on their performance last season, might hurt them more than it will help. Carson Palmer will make his long anticipated debut in the 2nd half. The Bengals have lost 15 of their last 20 preseason battles SU and failed to cash 13 of 20. New York has won 14 of their last 21, including five of seven at home and cashed seven of its last eight and seven of 11 as favorites. It's obvious who wants this game more and the fact that the Jets were pretty much embarrassed last weekend only help us in backing them on Sunday.

    Atlanta - Ramirez +125 (3 Units) 8:05 pm EST

St. Louis snapped the Braves dominance over them on Saturday with a 3-1 win, snapping Atlanta's 8 game winning streak over the Cardinals. Even so, the Braves have taken 8 of 9 and 12 of 16. Ramirez was once the man to beat as the Braves has won 12 of his first 15 starts this season. Since then, they have lost 4 of 5 but in three of those losses, the Braves put up just 3 runs in each game. This will be his first career appearance against the Cardinals, always an advantage for the pitcher. Atlanta is 3-1 +270 as a dog with Ramirez on the mound. Woody Williams takes the hill for St. Louis who has been very inconsistent with their run support for him recently. In their last 7 games, in 2 games against Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, they put up 23 runs but in the other 5 games, they put up a total of just 11 runs. We are thinking the runs might be a problem here as witnessed by their 2.67 rpg average over their last 6 games. Williams faced Atlanta once this season, taking a no-decision but allowing a season high 11 hits over 6.1 innings. St. Louis is 2-4 their last 6 games while the Braves are picking it up once again, winning 8 of their last 12 after a 3-4 "slump". It's hard to believe Atlanta has been dogs 28 times this season, but they are taking advantage winning those games at a 64% clip. Coming off a loss, the Braves are 6-1 +435 over the past month. They make it 7 wins after Sunday.

NY Mets - Leiter +190 (2 Units) 4:35 pm EST

The Mets have won 4 of their last 6 games, a streak they haven't seen in quite some time. Leiter is their ace and he has pitched like it recently. He is 3-0 his last 4 starts with a 1.08 ERA. On the season, the Mets are 14-7 +755 in his starts including a 7-2 record against lefties. Randy Johnson seemed like he was making progress after coming back from the DL but he was lit up for 5 runs in 5.2 innings in his last start against Montreal even through he got out of there with the win. He is obviously not the same pitcher we have seen in the past but he is still getting slapped as a 200+ favorite. His ERA at home is 6.84 on the season and the Diamondbacks are 1-3 in his starts against other southpaws. Arizona is still struggling for runs as they have scored more than 4 runs only twice in their last 19 games. They are just 6-13 in those games and find themselves falling further out of the wild card race in the National League. They are hitting .198 their last 10 games against lefties while the Mets are pounding lefties to the tune of a .375 average their last 10. The road team is now 10-4 the last 14 games of this series. Leiter has not fared well in his career against Arizona but with his recent performance coupled with the lack of Arizona offense, he is in very good position to keep the Mets in this game long enough to outscore the Diamondbacks in this contest.

    Seattle - Moyer +140 (3 Units) 1:05 pm EST

We're going back with Seattle after they disappointed us by blowing 2 separate leads in their loss on Friday night to New York. They will try to take this series with a win on Sunday before heading home in what turned out to be a not so great road trip. The ageless wonder Jamie Moyer takes the hill for Seattle who is 17-6 +925 in his starts this season. They are 11-3 +680 against righties with Moyer pitching and they don't seem to be letting up. Although they defeated the lefty Pettitte on Saturday, they are hitting .301 against righties their last 10 games. New York meanwhile is hitting just .202 against lefties during the same span. The Rocket has pitched well his last 2 outings but New York is just 5-7 -1080 in his 12 home starts on the season. He struggled against Seattle at the Stadium in a 6-0 loss earlier this season while Moyer also had some trouble in his lone start at New York way back in April. Clemens has yet to put together 3 consecutive wins this season as he is 0-3 -750 in his 3 attempts to get that 3rd straight victory. The Mariners have the bats to get to Clemens and they will be looking to take this series to get even on their current road trip.
