  • Seattle Mariners @ Cleveland Indians

The Seattle Mariners tonight go for their sixth win in seven games when they take on the Cleveland Indians.

Seattle have won five of the six meetings between these teams this season outscoring the Indians 35-18 and we are going to recommend them as a strong play tonight.

The Mariners are four games clear in the AL West at 68-43 (.613). They have been road warriors all season actually posting a better winning percentage (.635) on the road than at home (.593). Seattle's offense has come to life recently scoring an average of 7.8 runs through their last six games. Anything like that kind of offensive production tonight should be more than enough with Jamie Moyer on the mound.

The veteran southpaw is 14-5 with a 3.50 ERA this season and goes for his fifth straight win tonight. He ranks third in the AL in wins (14), fourth in winning percentage (.737), ninth in batting average against (.243) and tenth in ERA (3.50). The Mariners are 16-6 this season when he starts. Moyer has won six straight against the Indians.

The Indians are 15 1/2 games behind the Royals in the AL Central and tonight they look to avoid their fifth straight loss. They are just 45-66 (.405) overall this season having lost 15 of their last 19.

Tonight they start young leftie CC Sabathia and while he boasts a 9-5 record this season the Indians are just 10-11 when he starts. He has lost three of his last four starts allowing 15 earned runs in 26 1/3 innings.

The Mariners are a stellar 35-11 against the AL Central while the Indians have struggled against the AL West going just 8-21. Furthermore Seattle are a dominating 25-9 against lefties while the Indians are just 12-19.

Take the Mariners tonight with confidence.
