  • Chicago White Sox @ Seattle Mariners

We will be playing the Over again tonight as the Chicago White Sox go for their sixth straight win when they play the second of a three-game set at Seattle.

The White Sox thumped the Mariners 12-1 in the series opener last night and have now won 13 of their last 14. At 58-51 (.532) they are tied with the Royals atop the AL Central. The White Sox have been on fire since the All-Star break hitting an AL best .324 including 22 homers. They have shown an excellent consistency and offensive production recently scoring 6+ runs in 12 of their 15 games since the break. Not surprisingly the White Sox last seven have all gone Over the posted total.

Dan Wright has been recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to start tonight and he is yet to record a win in 11 starts in the majors this season. The 25 year-old right-hander is 0-4 with a 5.93 ERA and in his last outing allowed five earned runs in just 2 1/3 innings against the Indians.

The Mariners are 66-43 (.606) and lead the Athletics by three games in the AL West. The Over is 5-1 in Seattle's recent home games with an average of 11.7 runs scored per game. While the Mariners have been a little hot and cold recently in terms of run-scoring we expect them to be able to get something going tonight against Dan Wright.

Ryan Franklin (7-9, 3.67 ERA) heads to the mound for the Mariners and is just 1-5 in his last seven outings. Last time out he allowed five earned runs in six innings against the Rangers. In his last six outings he has struck out just 15 of the 171 batters he has faced.

These teams are 12-3-1 Over in their last 16 meetings and we expect the hot-hitting to continue tonight.
