MIAMI HURRICANES @ MARYLAND TERRAPINS SAT 11/11/06 @ 33:30 PM EST
Oh how the mighty have fallen, and are we looking at the last three or so games of the Larry Coker era at Miami? As if there hasn't been enough distractions for the Canes, now a player is killed in a late night incident this week. Maryland on the other hand is gaining strength and confidence each and every outing. RED ZONE SPORTS feels so strongly about this encounter, that it really should be a paid selection!
The Terps hold a significant edge defensively, and face a Miami offense that only put up 139 total yards last week versus Virginia Tech. In addition their #1 RB Jones left the game with a hip pointer, and if he plays will be only one hard hit away from returning to the sideline. UM QB Wright threw for only 86 yards against VT, and has 8 touchdowns to 7 interceptions.
Maryland is 15-7 ATS in November under Fridgen, and 13-4 ATS once they become bowl eligible. More importantly Fridgen is 20-8 ATS as a home favorite, and is 29-8 SU in College Park. Lastly the Canes are 12-5 ATS in away games in November under Coker, but are 0-3 ATS away this year, and 1-7 ATS after a straight up loss like last week. Take the Terps to roll to victory #8 and the Canes to fall to 5-5.
