These teams are 0-18 ATS since 1989, failing to cover the spread by more than 15 points a game on average. This is the equivalent of a 2-TD favorite losing the game outright. Big underdogs haven't fared any better, despite a perfect record. Last year, Texas Tech was 6-0 when they played at Texas. The 16'-point dog Red Raiders were destroyed 52-17, failing to cover by 18' points. In the other active game of 2005, UCLA was 7-0 and favored by 7 at Stanford. It took a miraculous comeback for the Bruins to pull out the SU win, but with a 30-27 margin, they also failed to cover the spread.
This POWER SYSTEM is now active for the first time in 2006. Boise State is favored by about 3 TDs at Idaho this Saturday. The Broncos are unbeaten on the season and trying to crash the BCS party. The Vandals have come on strong as of late, with wins over WAC opponents Utah State, New Mexico State, and Louisiana Tech last weekend as a road underdog.
