This is from my thread on another forum, and how one person feels about this service.:
Steele and his outfit Northcoast have pretty much moved to the darkside over the past decade. They are nothing more than a marketing machine at this point, and any who knows marketing knows you do not always have to have the best product in order to sell the product. I believe they used to be on the up and up all the time ( as Phil continues to suggest), but times have changed.
I used to be an Executive Club Member, but it has been nearly a decade. Back in the day Phil retty much did have just "one set of plays". I will give hime that. He had the Power Sweep Newsletter, than some nid-week phone selections and then his Late Phones. But NC and Phil have changed with the times. They had to promote their 900 lines to stay in the know. These plays originally were his late phone plays but then moved to more and more games on the board. I won't bore you with progression but now they have Power Sweep and Power Plays newsletter. They have added the Totals Club late phone and then the Small College late phones. Now he has his Late Phones and his Phil Steele Private Play late phones. Today I saw the Underdog six pack package. There are a couple of other things he does, but i will nopt be exhaustive. My point is, the guy who always said he had one set of late phone realeses, has several. Week in and week out he has a play on more than half the games on the baord. Any legit handicapper would not do this, but a marketing money hungry whore would.
With these multiple set of plays comes the abiltiy for Steele to picka nd choose what to promote. There will always be some postive spin to put on things. He preys on the people not knowing, and people need to know. If the goverment needs to regualte anything it is the scum who get people to bet too much of their money on coin flip games. I am not saying NC is the worst of the worts but the more I look into it and the more I read (confirmed information) the more sickening it gets.
I have not a things to gain. I know longer see NC or Steele as a reputable handicapper. If Steele was actually honest at all he would come on the line tomorrow and teel you that his top college palys for the season have not yet won ( and Texas Tech is not looking good tonight). And if he did mention it he would spin it into a 7 year, 12 year or 20 year category that makes it sound best for him and his company. I guarantee you he has a computer program he looks at each morning which tells him the best record or club to refer to. Marketing my friends.
Apologies for the rant, this just pisses me off. They are not in business to help anyone, with exception to pad the pockets of the NC leadership. If you really want to know, just know that Phil Steele does not wager on football games. If he were that damn good, why not bet? 95% of services are not in it for anything but to make themselves cash. If they win you keep paying, if they lose they go find new blood.
I'll let the rest of the guys in here continue taling about the phantom lines Steele claims. He use to stretch maybe a hal point and still mention that you could have pushed or lost but now it is simple "of course you won".
