KANSAS STATE WILDCATS at BAYLOR BEARS SAT SEPT 30TH @ 7 PM EST

There will be those of you surprised that 3-1 KSU is a + 2.5 against the 1-3 Baylor Bears. The Wildcats have fashioned their record against cupcake city. The three wins have been over Illinois State (1AA), and Florida Atlantic and Marshall who have a combined record of 1-7. The Cats have new coach Ron Prince from Virgina (off coord), who has installed a new offense with an experienced squad. Luckily for him the schedule has been set up for him to begin 5-1, but RED ZONE SPORTS says "NO", it ain't going to happen.

Baylor on the other hand has played perennial bowl teams TCU and Washington St, and lost last week in a surprise to Army on OT. The Bears return QB Bell who threw for just short of 2000 yards last year, and is averaging 268 yards per outing in 2006. All the stats give the offensive edge and special teams to the Bears. A slight defensive edge to the Cats. KSU QB Meier (veteran) has thrown four interceptions this year for every three touchdowns. He was so bad last week they tried freshman Freeman who was 3-10 for 18 yards versus Louisville.

Trends favor Baylor as they may be 18-36-2 ATS in the Big 12, but are 14-9-1 ATS in the Big 12 with present coach Guy Morris. KSU is 6-18 ATS in road openers, and 2-6 ATS and 1-7 SU in Big 12 away games. This is a big game for both squads, as wins in the conference will be few and far between. Guy Morris won 5 games last year, which is the most in a decade. Take the Bears, + 1 to win Saturday evening with RED ZONE SPORTS
