Back on 5/20/03 the Expos roughed up Dontrelle Willis and handed him his only loss. However Willis has gotten better & stronger as the season has progressed. Willis is now a member of the All Star team and is considered one of the toughest lefties in the game. The Expos scored 7 runs in last nights game and we have to wonder how much bat they will have left in them today against Willis. Look for Florida to put forth a better offensive effort then in yesterdays 7-1 loss and bounce back with a victory in this spot.

The Giants grabbed the cash last night against the Diamondbacks & future hall of Fame pitcher Curt Schilling. Once again today the Giants will check in at an underdog price. San Francisco is a profitable 6-1 (7.5 units) as a road underdog of +125 to +150 this season. San Francisco starter Jim Brower is making his second start since joining the starting rotation from bullpen duties. Brower out pitched St. Louis Ace Woody Williams back on 7/1/03. Brower threw 6 solid innings of baseball allowing just 1 run on 5 hits against the talented Cards line up in Busch Stadium. The Giants are in the midst of a sweet money making run going 9-4 in there last 12 games overall. We have to like our chances of the Giants getting another win as an underdog against the Diamondbacks, who have now lost 3 straight baseball games.

The Blue Jays looked like they got there hitting stroke back yesterday as they scored 8 runs in the final 2 innings against the Yankees terrible bullpen. Now Toronto will tee off against the Hittable Jeff Weaver. Weaver is just 4-7 with a 5.49 ERA lifetime agists the Jays. The Blue Jays are 11-3 (+8.5 units) in Sunday games this season & should be ready to end the first half of the season with a victory.

There certainly looks like there is something wrong with Oakland pitcher Barry Zito. Zito has been touched up for 15 earned runs on 35 hits in his last 19+ innings pitched. Now he will throw to the Baltimore line up. The O's do some of there best hitting on the road. Baltimore averages 5.7 runs per game while batting .282 as a team away from Camden Yards. Zito has made 6 career starts against the Birds and Baltimore has beaten Zito in 2 of those 6 starts. With that in mind we know the O's know what it takes to beat Zito and we feel they will do just that in this spot today.

It is now 5 straight starts where Twins starter Kyle Lohse has been hit hard and early. Kyle is not the only Twin who is struggling. In fact the entire Minnesota ball club is in a funk. Minnesota is 1-10 (-11 units) this far in the month of July. It is just the opposite for the World Champion Angels. Anaheim is a profitable 8-3 (+4 units) in the month of July themselves. Anaheim has won 4 straight games and are hitting the ball hard. Minnesota is sinking fast and we can see Lohse getting hit hard again while Anaheim starter John Lackey makes it hold up.

Who would have though the Royals would be in first place at the All Star break. Well, that is the cause and the Royals have to be feeling great about themselves and would like to head into the break with a victory. Kansas City will send there hottest hurler in Darrell May who has won his last 3 starts including his most recent win against the defending World Champion Anaheim Angels. May the talented left should give the Texas hitters fits tonight. The Rangers are just 10-22 (-10 units) against left handed starters this season. Look for the Royals to continue there solid play and get the job accomplished against the Rangers in this spot.
