I'm not sure of the exact time doc but there will be a message sent out with the week 1 picks. It will be to tell everyone to get their picks in early each week. I'm going to send out the sheet within 1 hour of the start of each race. Anyone's picks that are NOT on that list, are shit out of luck. Too many problems the last couple of years with late picks or picks 5 laps into a race and so on. I'm making no exceptions starting in week 2 and i'm not going to break that rule for 1 person and say no to others. We will all need to get our picks in early or else. I'm tired of sitting here every week when the green flag drops trying to enter picks because people just sent them.
I do mine on Saturday night and i wish others would do the same.

Wayne I sent my picks in tonight (figured I would just do 2 entries).
Question though, as this is only my second year doing this.
I was reviewing the duels, practices and line-ups. When I looked at the line-ups though on two different sites, it showed the same as yesterday.
But aren't Stewart, Newman, McMurray and some others sent to the back, because they are having to use back up cars? How do you find out (besides articles) what changes have ocurred to the line-up due to back-up cars, new engines, etc..?2012 - 2013 NCAAF

I follow nascar like crazy and sometimes I don't find out till near race time if my guy is starting in the back. It's tought to just look at practice cause a guy could put down a quick lap but then wreck and it still shows his fastest lap.Nascar will let the guys line up in the order they qualify in and let them run the first couple warmup laps from where the qualified and then with 1 lap to go till the start of the race they fall out of line and go to the back.Just try to look at the latest news on nascar.com and maybe it will give you some infoOriginally posted by BillMill71 View PostWayne I sent my picks in tonight (figured I would just do 2 entries).

BillMill, vols fan is right. Don't worry too much about starting in the back at Daytona though. After 20 laps, it won't matter and they will work their way up quickly. At a small track, i worry a little more. At Daytona and Talladega, it's not that big of a deal (IMO).

I agree with that, position wont matter as much, but the car does if they are using a back-up no?Originally posted by wayne1218 View PostBillMill, vols fan is right. Hell I think Harvick is going to a backup car and it's the one he won the shootout with so that might not even bother him.A few years ago the backup car was so different than the regular car it was crazy. Now all the cars are the same(COT) so as long as they have a little time to practice with the backup, like Tony did this morning, they shouldn't be too far off.Originally posted by BillMill71 View PostI agree with that, position wont matter as much, but the car does if they are using a back-up no?

Nationwide race today,Tony comes in and takes tires and restarts like 20th.6 laps later he was in the top 3 and went on to win the race.Thats why Daytona is the shit right there. At one time today,17 drivers were within 1/3 of a second from each other. It don't get no better than thatOriginally posted by wayne1218 View PostBillMill, vols fan is right. Don't let the word "Backup" scare you in Nascar Bill. They are cars that have raced these tracks before usually and that doesn't matter much either. The biggest thing i worry about when a guy crashes during practice and has to go to the backup car is, how is the driver? Sometimes an injury to them is alot worse than the car or starting position.Originally posted by BillMill71 View PostI agree with that, position wont matter as much, but the car does if they are using a back-up no?

K, thanks. Understood.
Now as far as starting position, it may not matter as much at Daytona, but, hasn't the winner of this and most big track races start from the top 14 positions?2012 - 2013 NCAAF
