  • I have a problem with 3 for all

Everyone knows what the rules are, or they are suppose to know. What it looks like to me is that Wayne contacted Rented Mule wondering where his picks were for Sunday. Wayne's it's not your job to send a friendly e mail reminder to contestants who's picks are not in. If they are not in they are not in. I don't know how many time's you have pointed out the rules on this. I didn't get a friendly reminder that you didn't get my picks in week six when I sent my picks, but for some reason it didn't send and I had no record of sending it. Maybe if you would have sent an e mail to me I could have caught what happend and corrected it. If you are going to do it for one person you better do it for everyone who's picks are late or don't do it at all. Doesn't look good.

We do it for everybody and i always have. If we forget once in awhile from being busy, so be it. I have always hated seeing people miss out on picks and get a zero because after that, they stop turning picks in and quit. You may not like how i run them and that is fine, it's your opinion but that will not change. We always wait for picks every week and when it gets close to kick off, we send out emails often asking where are your picks. Most never see the email before kickoff and it doesn't help them anyway but i'm not apologizing for that.

I run these pools in good sportsmanship and if i send reminders to people about picks BEFORE the games kick off, i see nothing wrong with it.

One thing i won't do is remind people of picks if it is based at a website and not through me like the CBS Pick 'em and the capping contest.

Pools that are done through email are always given a reminder. The main reason for that is because it's email and sometimes people thought they sent it and didn't, or sent it to an addy with a typo, or sent it and i never got it. The reminder is in case of any of the above.

If you didn't get a reminder, i'm not sure why you wouldn't have. We always send one because we get sick of sitting here waiting come noon time. It is done as a good gesture and one final chance to shit or get off the pot. I'm not sure why it bothers you or what the big deal is to be honest but it is something i have always done and will always do.

People have reminded me several times too. longnex reminded me of my picks in MLB with a pool through him several times and helped. I'm in local pools here and the people that run those have called me a few times this year saying "Where the hell are your picks"?

I appreciate it every time and where it is not their responsibility, it is very much appreciated and done in good faith.

It would be easy for me to simply give zero's left and right .... remember, i'm in these pools and competing too. That is not my or many others style and if i can help and remind someone who has paid his dues, i do it.

How many times have i posted a thread on here before a race asking someone to contact Dimer or many others to get their race picks? I've done that several times with nothing more than a thanks in return. Is that so bad? Seriously?? I really can't even believe you made a thread or issue of this.

I'm sorry, but that's a lame ass excuse Wayne. They paid their money if they choose to drop out that's on them. Everyone knows the rules. It should be cut and dry. To be honest with the way you are thinking about it, I don't even know why you have rules to begin with. They have all been broken. And the capping contest is no different.

          NFL Capping Contest

I set this up with a weekly deadline of 1 PM est. on Sunday. When there is a Thursday or Saturday game, Poolhost defaults the deadline to 1 hour before the 1st game of the week. That means picks for Week 1 need to be in by Thursday night @ 7 PM est. There is nothing i can do to change that. If you miss the deadline, you are out of luck. Plain & Simple. The Pool home page clearly tells you the deadline each week with a ticking clock.

Funny when you go to the standings 12 changes were made AFTER the deadline in week 10. So much for there is nothing you can do about it.

From now on I'm just going to stick with the pay Yahoo fantasy, and the free BC contest, unless changes are made. Rules are rules and you should stick by them.

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. Call it lame ass all you want. My wife helps me with 90% of the pools and she always feels bad for people who forget picks and so do i. I really don't care if you believe that or not because it is the truth. You have played pools long enough to know this is nothing new and you have the option in the future of not playing any more.

As stated above, i'm not having anything to do with picks on the websites. Week 10 was my fuck up and i had a sticky up in all sports about it since Thursday saying to email me the picks.

Wayne busts his ass with these contests that he does not even have to do. It's HIS contests and HIS rules. If he wants to give the benefit of the doubt to someone, that's his choice.

Wayne and his wife always plays in the contests. It would benefit him and his wife not to remind people cause those who forget would lose points or get booted from a survivor contest. He and his wife would have a better chance to win. But Wayne prefers to be kindhearted and gives people the benefit of the doubt.

I think Wayne should get a pat on the back instead of some shit thread like this. Wayne is way too good to this site and the people on it. He simple doesn't deserve this kind of thread.

And to boot, Wayne puts up his own money to add to Monte's and Spark's for the free contests on this site. But I guess some people just look for the "bad" things to bitch at instead of praising people once in a while.

Thanks for all you do Wayne. And the reason I help out around here when I can is to help show it. You have lots to do and never ask for help. I'm always here for ya, as well as others like KB ... We are here cause we appreciate what you do!!!

I'm sorry but it has NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT WAYNE DOES AND DOESN'T DO FOR THE SITE. I don't need the same old rah rah bullshit speach on what the mods do for the site LSU. I know what they do, and there are some good contest on here. All I'm saying is that if I would have gotten a friendly e mail I wouldn't have a bitch. But to me it looks like Wayne is looking out for some more than others. AGAIN! IF YOU CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT YOU CAN'T REMIND EVERYONE, THAN YOU SHOULDN'T REMIND ANYONE! It's not like I don't like Wayne, so don't try to make it that way. I just have a problem with the way the capping contest and the 3 for all is being handeled.

(It's HIS contests and HIS rules.) Than maybe Wayne should put a * by his rules saying that rules are subject to change at anytime at his discretion.

(Wayne and his wife always plays in the contests. It would benefit him and his wife not to remind people cause those who forget would lose points or get booted from a survivor contest.)

So what, that's why it's a contest. You don't follow the rules you lose. And do you know who else it would benefit LSU? The people who are playing by the RULES LIKE ME AND A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE! I'm not here to play help your buddy or your neighbor. I paid money, and that's a whole different ballgame! Tell that to the people who move down in the standings because Wayne gave someone a break. LIKE ME! If you don't see the problem with that, then I don't know what to tell you. Your way of thinking on this is ass backwards

Last year I had problems with Wayne's Yahoo e mail for some reason my mail would get blocked and Wayne had me send proof that I sent the email before the deadline which I did. It doesn't look like that is the case for Rented mule. not only once but TWICE this year. WITH NO PROOF OF ORIGINAL E MAIL AT ALL, LIKE I HAD TO DO! So yeah, I'm not too happy about this. Then I get basicly told by Wayne that he may have been busy, and even if I wasn't busy and I didn't get an email tough shit. As far as the capping contest goes. It's funny how 33 people can get it right in week 10 but they all pay the price because Wayne want's to be a nice guy. Talk about a bailout and spreading the wealth all in one. Maybe Wayne should just host these two contest and not take part in them.

I want to make this clear. I have no ill will toward you Wayne, and I will continue to play out the contest. I will not be involved in the capping contest or 3 for all next season unless the rules are cut and dry with no gray in the middle. Like some didn't know about Thursday night so I'm going to give them a break this time. I just feel that the rules are the rules and they should be followed even more so when there is money involved. If not you have problems like this.

I play no favorites when it comes to pools and never have. If i played favorites, certain people would be allowed to play and certain people would not. I'll say it again, i'm beyond shocked by every post you have made in this thread Beardown and i prefer you play no more pools in the future because the way i run them isn't changing and who knows what problems you will have next. I think we are both better off that way.
