Welcome to the 2007-08 Basketball Challenge
This year will be a little different than last. Make sure you read this post twice because all your questions should already be answered in here and if you make a mistake with your picks, it will fall on your shoulders, not ours.
You must be a member here for at least 30 days and have at least 50 posts to qualify and play in this FREE Contest. No exceptions to this rule.
You are probably wondering how to play huh? Well here it goes .......
Rules
--------
1) You must pick 3 games each week against the pointspread.
2) The games must be played on either Saturday or Sunday.
3) There will be one thread each week to enter you Saturday or Sunday plays in.
4) You must pick all 3 games on either Saturday or Sunday. You can't pick 2 on 1 day and 1 on the other. If this happens, you will be credited with a automatic loss for the 1 play posted on a particular day. You will get credit for the 2 plays posted on the other day though.
5) You can use NBA or College Basketball plays. You can play all 3 in 1 sport or mix them up. That's up to you.
6) Closing lines will be used from www.scoresandodds.com. If you have a problem with one of their lines (Unless it is an obvious one), take it up with them. Last minute line changes are possible so be careful about posting too early and having it change.
7) Do Not post lines with your plays. Many are likely to change and all you will do is confuse us more. Rotation Numbers would be great, lines ... Not so much.
8) Once your plays are posted, they are final. NO CHANGES will be accepted.
9) You will get 1 pt. for every correct call and 1/2 pt. for every push. Highest number of points in the end, Wins!
10) If you post your plays and any of your games have started, you will receive 0 pts. for that pick. If a game you chose ends with NL or isn't in the scoresandodds rotation, you receive 0 pts. for those games as well.
11) The standings sheet will be posted each week by Wednesday. You will put your weekend plays in that thread when you are ready to pick them.
12) The season will start on the 1st weekend of November. You will have to put picks in on either Saturday November 3rd or Sunday November 4th. That is the 1st Weekend of the NBA Season.
13) This Contest will end on the weekend of April 12th/13th. That is the final weekend in the NBA Regular season and a total of 24 weekends in this pool. The Best possible score would be 75 points. Look below to see where the other 3 come from.
14) Tiebreaker: Anyone tied for the lead at the end of the regular season will move into the Playoffs. You will pick the Winner of all 8 1st round series. The person with the most right wins. If we are still tied, we will move on to round 2 of the playoffs and pick all of those Series and so on .......
15) BONUS GAME: The NCAA Championship game will be a 3 Point Bonus Game. You will pick it that weekend in the weekly thread with your other 3 plays. If you forget about it, it will be your loss. We will remind you that weekend and from there it is up to you. This game is put in here just to see how well you read these threads.
16) If interested, no emails are needed. Just reply in this thread and you will be added to the list for Week 1.
17) Prizes: I'm going to give an option on this one. I will post both prizes in post #2 and if you win, YOU will get to choose which one you want. Because i will not know which prize is chosen until the contest is over, please expect 4-6 weeks for delivery. It will take me time to get it together and sent out. Prize #2 may vary. If i can't find the exact product by the time the winner is decided, i will get the closet thing to it in size, price & quality.
18) The cost of the prize will be split 3 ways between myself, Monte & Spark. All we ask in return is that you keep this site running by helping out and using the Sponsors above. Click them on, enjoy the offers, and tell them BC sent you.
19) Big Kudos to kbsooner. I talked to him and he is going to be posting the weekly thread and doing the corrections. I appreciate his help greatly. If you notice a mistake, by all means bring it to our attention. I will post the week one thread to show the basic format i am looking for and he will take over from there.
