Tall People stay off the beach.....

These are some photos of St. Marten Airport, French West Indies.
The planes impress most people on the beach, flying over just seconds
before touching down at Princess Juliana airport. Paradise for the beach
lovers, having a lovely tropical beach, and for the aviation fanatics
that spends hours on end observing the very low flying skills of giant
commercial plane pilots. Twelve Boeing 747s operate daily to St. Marten.
The heavy jumbo is the most Impressive of all and attracts the looks of
everybody around...one photo, from inside a 747 Air France, shows how
close the beginning of the runway is to the road and beach at St.
    Marten.

I dont think those pics are real. In fact i know they arent. I work right next to the airport here. albany intl airport. I mean right next to it. I can throw a baseball and hit the green fence surrounding the runways. And i watch planes land daily. they dont even get that close to the ground until 500+ feet of runway is already under them. All runways are required to be a certain distance for big planes like 747s. to land at. No way that a plane that big comes in that low, even if the runway was on the beach.

Yes JC, those are airplanes. You may be seeing a few of those in Hicksville by 2021.

no i agree they look cool and all but there is no way. By law regardless of region nation or whatever a runway has to be a certain distance to land certain size airplanes. If big planes ie 747 are landing @ this airport they need/required to have certain landing distance. The planes wouldnt be at that height at that point no way no how, its just not possible. The edge of the runway could be on the beach and they still wouldnt be that close to the ground. My good friend is a pilot i will forward these pics to him he'll give me the story with the required heights/distance and stuff. I'll let you know. The pics are cool though.

i guess i have to take your word on it. I just still dont see how that is possible?? I literally work across the street from albany intl airport. i'm looking out my window @ one of the runways as i type this. i see planes land daily and they must be a certain height to land and must have a certain size runway in order to land. the 1st quarter of any runway isnt even used when landing. all i can say is it must be quiet a sight
