He has a condition called lymphedema. His lymph system doesn't drain properly because of his morbid obesity so his leg swells up with lymph fluid.

I cant imagine how his heart can support that body. Cant they staple his stomach??

Actually there were several bariatric surgeons (stomach staplers) who tried to get him to have the surgery but he opted for some trendy nutritional program. That's how he lost several hundred pounds...can't remember which diet program it was.

I don't think liposuction is an option in this guy's case. He probably couldn't survive a liposuction(s) during which that much fat would be removed....too much anesthesia time.

Of course he's a terrible surgical risk for undergoing gastric reduction surgery too. But for someone that obese, it's a last-ditch life-saving effort.

They might be able to lipo about 50 pounds in one surgery, but that would be about it. Any extra and he'd almost certainly die on the table.

If i was him, i would take any chance at getting that weight off of me, no matter the risk. You know he has zero quality of life.
