            Title: Mouth Breaks the Silence
Log: "Floor on 127!" are the first words audible today, over the sounds of the clicking chips. Tournament Directors are called to the very table at which Mike Matusow sits, where he's being accused by a dealer of throwing cards. He's immediately assigned a ten minute penalty, but he adamantly and politely defends himself, and is supported by the rest of the players at the table. He's let off with a warning, but not more than a few seconds later, still steaming from the accusation, he let's the F-word slip. "Now I have to give you a 10 minute penalty," says Tournament Director Louis "You can't say the F-word." "F___ that," says Matusow. "Twenty minutes." "F_____n' great." "Thirty minutes." As Matusow leaves the area, he manages to fire off one more F-Bomb, rounding out his penalty to forty minutes, and starting a small round of applause from a crowd who up until this point, had been quite silent, and is now chatting away. Leave it to Mike "The Mouth" to get people talking.

              Haha thanks for the update.

I bet $1 to win $90 that "The Mouth" would make it to the final table.

                  Title: Phil Ivey's Jacks
Log: After a flop of 6-3-2, Seat 7 bets $2,000. Phil Ivey goes into the tank for 3 minutes, and finally calls. The turn is the 9h. Seat 7 fires at the pot again, this time $4,000 in chips, and again Ivey takes a long time to contemplate a call. He does call, and the river brings the 2c. Both players check the river, and they show down. Seat 7 shows A-K for Ace high, and Phil Ivey shows J-J for a pair of jacks. Ivey drags the pot, and now has close to $30,000 in chips.

                          Day Two: A New Beginning

                          2005-07-10

In many ways, Day Two marks the beginning of the tournament. With separate heats for Day One, it might be easier to think of those three days as qualifying rounds to get the field down so everyone can play together on one day.

Nearly 1,900 players have survived their Day Ones to return for Day Two. Here are the top ten chip leaders:

                          1. Haakon Waerstad - $169,200
                          2. Sam Farha - $156,600
                          3. Nguyen Duc - $150,250
                          4. Lee Watkinson - $145,800
                          5. Graeme Harrison - $142,700
                          6. Jeffrey Dziedzic - $136,450
                          7. Brad Kondracki - $131,825
                          8. Mike Gambony - $130,000
                          9. Ed Cardona - $129,475
                          10. Pete Lawson - $124,825

Ironically, even though we have meaningful chip counts for the first time (representing the entire field), history tells us it's doubtful that any of these chip leaders will even make it to the final table. It's a reminder that there are no guarantees in poker; even 7-2 offsuit cracks aces 11% of the time, and nobody has won a dime in the Main Event yet.

Still, everyone else in the field envies the players with the most chips. Being the chip leader may not come with a guarantee, but it's certainly better than being short-stacked.

So wherever they fall on the list of chip counts, every one of these players still has a chance. And that chance, however small, is enough to make them the envy of every other poker player in the world.

                            Title: Phil Ivey Doubles Up
Log: Phil Ivey and his oponent stare at a flop of Kd-Jd-6d. Ivey's opponent bets out, and Ivey raises, his opponent pushes all in, and Ivey calls. His opponent shows 8d-4d, and Ivey shows Ad-3d for the nut flush. The board improves neither players' hand any further, and Ivey doubles up, and is now sitting on approximately $52,000 in chips.

Log: After a flop of 10-9-6, Marcel Luske and Ryan Hughes get it all in the middle. Luske has K-J, and Hughes has 9-7. The turn brings a 2, and the river an 8. Ryan Hughes straight is good enough to knock Marcel Luske out of the Main Event. Hughes is now sitting on $125,000 in chips.
