NOT SURE IF THIS HAPPENS TO ANYONE ELSE BUT THIS IS MY 2 BIGGEST FLAWS OF PLAYING POKER


#1

I PLAY THE MOST CONSERVITE POKER I CAN PLAY.FOLD 80% OF THE HANDS PRE-FLOP.MAKE IT THROUGH ABOUT THE TIME THEY HAVE RAISED THE BLINDS 5 OR 6 TIMES.THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN I GET ACE KING SUITED.PUT A NICE BIG RAISE OUT THERE PRE FLOP .NEXT THING I KNOW SOMEONE CALLS.FLOP COMES VERY LOW AND I THINK THIS PERSON HAS WATCHED ME FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF THROW DOWN EVERY CARD SO I RAISE VERY HIGH AND HE CALLS.THEN GAMBOLA HITS ME.I AM STUCK HALF OF MY CHIPS ARE IN THIS POT DO I CHECK THEN THIS GUY KNOWS I HAVE CRAP AND WILL JUST MAKE A HUGE BET TO STEAL THE POT OR DO I TRY AND SCARE HIM WITH ANOTHER HUGE BET.GUESS WHAT HAPPENS
WELL GUESS YOU KNOW DOES NOT TURN OUT WELL.


#2 PROBLEM

WHEN I MAKE IT TO THE FINAL TABLE IF I AM A TOP 3 CHIP STACK AT THE TABLE I USUALLY JUST FOLD ALL HANDS BUT MY BIG BLIND.HOPING TO FINISH IN THE $$$$$$$$$$$ AND NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN ANYTHING RISKY.SINCE THE BLINDS ARE SO HIGH I SOMETIMES END UP FINISHING ALOT WORSE JUST BECAUSE I LOST SO MANY CHIPS TRYING TO WAIT FOR ALL THE LOW STACKS TO GET OUT SO I COULD BE IN THE $$$$$$$$$$$$.ONCE IN THE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I THEN PLAY RISKY.

#2 PROBLEM I HAVE CHANGED RECENTLY.I PLAY VERY RISKY AT THE FINAL TABLE RAISING WITH A HIGH CARD ETC JUST BECAUSE I KNOW EVERYONE AT THE TABLE WAS THINKING LIKE I USED TO.USUALLY YOU CAN GET A COUPLE EXTRA HUNDRED OR THOUSAND CHIPS YOU NORMALLY WOULD NOT HAVE WHEN YOU GET TO HEADS UP.

TECH,I PLAY POKER WELL,HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR YEARS,IF YOUR PLAYING ONLINE,PLAY CHEAP,20 dollar buy-ins or smaller,just my thoughts,but i am not playing where i can't see the dealer and the other players faces,when you ask somebody a question during a big pot,lots of times they will show tells,i have seen too many fucked up things on line,i know,lots of you guys have gotten rich on line,thats great,i hope you have one of those programs where you can see everybodie's cards,kinda gives you a little advantage !!

Also you really think there is a SUPER SOFTWARE out there that they can see your hole cards ONLINE???

As you can tell I am a loser in both LIVE and ONLINE. Hope you can help.

no,just made that up,online play rules,i personally love to play where i can't see the dealer,i am going to try and find a casino that deals bye computer hands,i will feel much safer about getting cold-decked !!

chunganeese your right on about that online tell.....when a tight player or fish has a big hand online they dont know what to do with it....they think about check-raising but then think better of it...so they finally decide to bet but they're not sure how much they want to bet.....finallly when the clock is running out they throw out a huge bet and if you have any sense you'll fold.....if U have a GIANT hand you slow play and let them bet for you....

this rule also applies pre-flop....if that tight player is taking forever and finallly throws out a big pre flop raise then chances are your goign up against a dominant hand....

if anyone wants to improve their online game i would suggest watching the final table replays that pokerstars plays almost constantly...it will really open your eyes ...and if you really are committed to improving there are great training videos that the online pros put out...i belong to cardrunners and it has done wonders for my online results...others are poker x factor, spade club, and poker savy plus...gl

caro's book is solid but you gotta read the book "read em and reap"...authors name is joe navarro...he used to work for the gov. in counterintelligence specializing in nonverbal communication...i read the book and then went to his seminar here in vegas...the seminar cost me $1500 but i guarantee i made that back in two sessions with what i learned...really cool stuff....gl
