Replacing the end panel on the series 2 seat box. I'd like to solid rivet rather than pop rivet it together, however, don't want to spend hundreds on a pneumatic rivet gun. Has anyone hand-rivetted these with a punch and block? I understand the basic concept but am unsure how easy to achieve a reasonable finish. Also, need to find out what size are the rivets.

Replacing the end panel on your Defender 110 Puma sounds like a satisfying project! When it comes to solid riveting, using a punch and block could be a great DIY approach. While I'm not sure about the ease of achieving the finish you're after, trying it out could be a rewarding experience.
For sourcing the right size of rivets, you might want to explore these concrete/brick screw. They have a variety of fastener options that could potentially suit your needs. It's awesome to see fellow enthusiasts getting hands-on with their projects.
Wishing you success with your solid riveting endeavor, and may it add a personal touch to your Defender!
