  • Renovating interior front door - qs and pictures

Hi all, I had ordered a replacement custom sized door for this but fate may have it that it was damaged in shipping and I was refunded.

Im now planning to paint/renovate it with a couple of questions:

Should I remove/replace the old draught proofing strips? I intended to replace the hinges also so figure I should do it at the same time?

    Any recommended draught proofing measures?

What would the be the best way to fill the hole for the letterbox? I have an external door so don't need the letterbox. Similarly I was going to fill the yale key area. 2 part wood filler?

Im probably going to get my carpenter to put in a new lock/latch similar to the front door. This means I'll have them likely at a lower height than the yale lock. I'm going to paint the door white probably in teknos aquatop paint similar to my front door.

Hey there! Your front door project looks awesome so far! I love the color choice; it's giving off some seriously cozy vibes. As for your question about painting the skirting boards, I'd suggest using a high-quality primer to ensure a smooth finish and then going in with your chosen paint color. It might take a bit of time, but the end result will be worth it. Oh, and speaking of home projects, I recently had to deal with a similar issue when renovating my place. Ended up finding a solid solution through a local skirting board company. You can check their offers, too.
