  • Bicycle instead of walk??

So I currently ride around in a cart, as I get older I am beginning to have less free time. I want to get exercise while golfing to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I have considered walking, but feel like there is time left out on the course and time is practice. I figure I have two options left.

I have a membership on a small muni and it's mostly open. I have been through a round of 9 holes in 45 mins flat in a cart.

First I could get a harness and drag my clubs and sprint/run/jog/walk to each ball which would close the time gap to a cart, and provide excellent exercise. However I feel I would get some weird looks, which matters in a small town.

Second, I could get a bicycle and small pull behind cart. I think this would be great. Fast, quick, quiet, and provides exercise. Also on those days I play 36 holes I could probably manage on a bike but struggle on a walk/run.

Has anyone else tried this nor seen this in action? I feel like this is a great compromise. There are also some 4 wheel bicycles with or without two seats. Maybe this would be better?

I just saw your post, and I am also hough of getting a bike for myself to drop a couple of pounds. Besides, my office is not that far from the place where I live, so I can easily ride there.

Personally, I think a bike with a small pull-behind cart would be a great compromise. It's fast, quiet, and provides excellent exercise. Plus, you can cover more ground than if you were walking or jogging.
And speaking of exercise, I truly believe that riding a bike in the fresh air is the best cardio ever. It's a great way to get your heart rate up and get some sunshine.
By the way, I recently discovered some info about cyclist liability, and it was super helpful in making sure I have the proper insurance coverage for when I'm out on my bike. It's definitely worth looking into, especially if you're riding frequently.
